Yesterday was results day, and while I hope everyone did well, this is your reminder that your results do not define you.

My feed has been filled with the campaign by DYW this week, so I thought I’d share my own message.

At 17, I decided education wasn’t the path I wanted to keep following. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Over the last five years, I’ve realised that you don’t need a degree to build a career you love.

Today, I supply a local cafe in my hometown, I’ve won an award, and I get to be part of people’s special moments, because there’s cake for every occasion!

So, to anyone feeling stuck in their final years of school, don’t be afraid to take a chance. There isn’t one “right” path to success, and you’re never too old to change direction. Whether that’s starting a business, learning a trade, going to university at 18 or in your 40s, what matters most is finding the path that’s right for you.
