Andy’s Bread is a small artisan bakery based in Llanidloes. Andy’s Bread is part of the Real Bread Campaign.

The range includes slowly fermented rye and wheat sourdough breads, traditional tin loaves and viennoiserie products. Andy’s Bread was founded in June 2010 from a small kitchen in Llanidloes. After reading about the demise of real bread in Andrew Whitley’s seminal book, Bread Matters and a visit to Birmingham to bake with Tom Baker of LOAF, I took the leap into the world of micro-bakeries. Hi folks, we had a really busy weekend at the Newtown Food Festival so we'll be having a day off baking tomorrow.

We will unfortunately not be in Newtown next week either (16th), as our van has to go into the garage

We were so busy at Newtown Food Festival yesterday that I had no chance to take any photos but we've been baking all morning. We are going to be at the festival from 10 am Sunday morning with all the usual stuff:

- sourdoughs
- tins
- ciabatta
- baguettes
- focaccia
- pastries

Come and find us in the food tent and come and say hi to Jo and Emily.

We won't be at Newtown Market this coming Tuesday and we won't be baking for Llanidloes Tuesday either because we're all having a morning off. So fill your boots today. Come and see us.

It's the Women's Tour of Britain 2026 in Llanidloes today. We have nailed the bake! Getting up at 3 am was worth it and everything is in Great Oak Foods now already.

Come down and support the town, buy some stuff and have a great day!

The race starts at 11am.

Newtown people, you will be happy to hear that we will be at the market this morning, even though we weren't supposed to be!

We'll have all the usual sourdough, tins, ciabattas, baguettes, and loads of pastries and focaccia and cheese and onion pasties. Come and see us from 10 a.m.

We've done a smaller bake today, Great Oak closing at 1pm so get down this morning for sourdoughs, white tins and pastries.

We've taken a couple of days break and so has so no stall at Machynlleth Market this week. Normal service resumes for us Thursday with all the usual shops.

Sorry for the late post. We weren't at Newtown market today due to holidays, we will be back next Tuesday (23rd) but then away again 30th June. Normal service in July.

We will be baking all week in Llani and bread will be available in Newtown on Friday at Cambrian Butchers

We're looking for a hardworking and reliable person to join the team on an initial contract until mid-September.

You'll be working Tuesday to Friday, approximately 10am–1pm, keeping on top of cleaning throughout the day, pot washing, and taking care of whatever jobs are needed to keep the bakery in pristine condition. You'll also need to be available to work occasional Saturday mornings.

For the right person, there's potential for extra hours covering holiday shifts, and the role could grow in responsibility as we go. A food hygiene certificate would be ideal, though not essential — we're happy to support the right candidate in getting one.

Bora da / Good morning, we are all set up at Newtown market. We have all the usual great sourdoughs, tins, Rye bread, ciabatta and baguettes. Plus gooey buns, croissants, pain au choc, almond croissant. And of course vegan and cheesy focaccia.
