THE OLD OVEN BAKERY WILL BE CLOSING

Friday 2nd August 2019 will be our last day trading.
This has been a extremely difficult decision to make, Garry can no longer carry on doing what he does best ‘Traditional Baking’ due to his health problems one of them being the effects of working with flour over the last 48 years.
We would like to thank you all for your custom over the last 32 years and especially the care and support you have shown us the last 7 months. THANK YOU SO MUCH x

Just a reminder the bakery won’t be open Tuesday 2nd July or Wednesday 3rd July. Garry has a couple of hospital appointments and our oven is having a service.
Most of our regular customers are aware Garry hasn’t been in the bakery for the last 8 weeks due to his poor health. I will keep you updated after the hospital appointments. Thank you again for all your support.

Update. Garry is now home and feeling a lot better. Thank you for all your well wishes.
We won’t be open Good Friday for our Delicious Hot Cross Buns sorry, first time in 32 years 😥.
The shop will reopen Tuesday 23rd April. Hope you all have a lovely Easter Weekend xx

Morning, Garry the Baker is still in hospital. We are going to remain closed until further notice sorry.
If you have ordered Hot Cross Buns and paid for them, please ring the shop and I will arrange a refund.

BAKERY UPDATE
As there seems to be a lot of rumours going around at the moment, that are all incorrect,
I will give you the correct information.
1. Garry the Baker is not in a coma nor has he got cancer!!
He spent most of January/February in and out of Hospital.
1st. Admitted for atrial fibrillation
2nd. Given the wrong medication causing him
Severe breathing difficulties.
3rd. Came home with Swine flu, returned to
Intensive care extremely poorly.
4th. Returned to hospital with another
Hospital virus.
Garry suffers with COPD and pneumoconiosis
(due to flour dust inhalation) his lungs are damaged so colds, flu or physical exertion now effects him.
As advised by his respiratory specialist and family he will no longer be baking bread, something he has done for the last 50 years.
But his health must now come first.

The bakery will remain open, we have another bakery supplying us with rolls so we can continue with our takeaway, filled rolls, sandwiches, savouries that are still baked on the premises including a good selection of cakes.

So please if you have any questions or unsure what we now do, either phone the bakery or send me a message.

Garry the Baker is coming out of hospital today, what a emotional time since Christmas this has been. Now to build his strength up. Oh and no he won’t be back baking for a while. Everyone thank you for your support during this difficult time and popping in the shop to ask how Garry’s doing.
The shop is open for filled rolls, sandwiches, savouries and cakes x
