There’s three, (YES THREE!) flavours of Sausage Roll to choose from this weekend! Andy’s really outdone himself with the flavours too….

CHEESEBURGER
Seasoned ground beef with pickle juice and chopped gherkins, with mature cheddar cheese and wrapped in pastry & crispy onions on top. Absolute winner!

HOG ROAST
Slow cooked pork shoulder in c***r, with sage and apple pork sausage meat. Deeeeeelish!

AUTUMN
We pinched this one from last year’s Autumn afternoon tea menu! Pork sausage meat with onion, garlic & fresh rosemary, with a layer of turmeric roast potatoes. A hug in pastry!

Right, I think I’ve sent initial email responses to everyone! Inbox and spam folders for both the tea time and regular email addresses seem to be clear.
I really need to bake some stuff, and then will start confirming deposits too, so please bear with me.

As of 4pm on Friday 19th Sept, this is the availability! 🤯
Needless to say, discussions have begun about adding extra dates! If you would like to be added to the waiting list then ping us an email to [email protected] and we’ll keep you posted.

IT IS TIME….
…Christmas Afternoon Tea bookings are now OPEN!! 🎄
Our third year of hosting these festive feasts, and this year there’s a record number of sittings for you to choose from.

New to our Afternoon Teas? You’ll find a load of information on the ‘Booking Info’ posted in the attached pics. Everything is freshly made here, by us, in our little BakeHouse kitchen. No finger sandwiches and dainty sweets to be found here though, we’re here to feed you up and send you on your way with a box of treats that you couldn’t quite manage, to enjoy on your sofa in yer jim jams!

Sittings start at the times specified on the list, they are 2 hours long, and prices include teas and coffees, or babycinos and squash for our smaller pals! Our epic hot chocs and cold drinks are available to order, at extra cost. You can even bring a bottle of bubbly with you if you fancy, just give us a heads up and we’ll have the glasses ready and waiting.

Vegetarian alternatives are available, but we do not have a vegan or gluten free menus…sorry. Please let us know of any food allergies or dietary requirements when booking and please allow us to confirm we can accommodate before paying the deposit.

Is that everything?? Probably not…there’s always something I’ve forgotten to mention!

The first Autumn Afternoon Tea is done and dusted, and it’s already a firm favourite in the BakeHouse kitchen.

Chilli Con Carne Sausage Roll…stop it!

Churro Chips and Apple Salsa….winner!

Both November dates are now sold out, but we have a few tables left for the second September date and October sittings.

Heads up, if have or are planning to get in touch, we will be replying to booking emails on Tuesday, as we are taking a day off tomorrow to take our Laila back to uni 🥺

Well, I think we can safely say the that the most popular bake of the week is our epic Curried Vegetable Scones! They never fail to turn a head or two, and served warm with coriander butter and mango chutney, they are an Autumnal delight! They’ve been flying out this week, and they’ll be back on the counter on Saturday Morning 🧡

This morning our beloved Flossy dog passed away.
She was the bestest doggo and a huge part of our family. An absolute joy to come home to after a tough day, and always happy to see any human…she really wasn’t fussy as long as she got fussed!
A proper wally, a shadow to anyone that stepped into the kitchen, and the best for cuddles. We have been so lucky to have 12 years of them.
To say we are all heartbroken is an understatement.
The house is quiet today.

We will need to be at the shop tomorrow as we have our upstairs windows replaced, but we have decided to remain closed on Tuesday also, so that we can have some time to sort ourselves out.

What a flippin’ lovely Sunday afternoon we had, hosting Amy’s baby shower today 🩵

We created a delish, summery Afternoon Tea menu for her to share with her fave people, whilst they celebrated the imminent arrival of baby. Lots of guests never even knew we existed, so the menu made a great impression and we look forward to welcoming them to the shop soon!

We bloody love having the place full and buzzing with happy people with full bellies…this time with both food and babies!

Thank you Amy…we’ll see you soon on the obligatory maternity leave cake stops!
