THROWBACK THURSDAY to June of this year….George Baker 216 stockrod EVO2
4 weeks prior to spedeweekend the full road going corsa C was to be built in to a stockrod ready in time for the world championship weekend!
Cutting it a little fine with time the car was completed to the highest level including the removal of all underseal!
Made easier by having everything to hand so the whole build could be done in house.
Straight out of the box the car proved to be well suited to driver with minimal tweaking along the way (so far)
It’s been producing results at every track it attends and coming home in a respectful 6th in the world final on its debut meeting with quickest lap times in heat 1 of the weekend.

Then on the return from Ireland on the Sunday it was Eastbourne on the Wednesday where George won the final (with a bitter sweet ending)-flat pack rear end!
National weekend produced the best performance from the car so far where it showed it’s true pace
Starting 9th row for the national and at one point made it inside the top 3!
After a short holiday was George’s first meeting back at hednesford where he went on to win the final in fine style
Last meeting of the year was the best in Britain
A packed grid in the heats produced some close tough racing
The final was no exception with laps winding down and the gap the front 2 had produced it made it hard to make ground but finishing again a respectful 5th
Overall not a bad 6 months of racing for the new car in 2024
2025 might be the year for a major🙏🏻🤞🏻
2025 for M W Race Prep will see some significant changes
We will still be doing race car preparation but will be taking on a new lead
(More on that in the very near future)
Our own racing will be in full force hoping to do as much as time will allow with the possible return of an old dog 😁
