3. Complete the payment instructions sent to you by email

Once payment is confirmed we will be busy in the kitchen preparing your freshly baked brownies. All orders will be posted Monday 24 February 2020 for our soft launch, all orders to be paid by Saturday 22 February 2020 midnight!

Two years ago...was I ready? No

Will I ever be ready? No

It’s not about being ready or the right time, its about taking the risk because you want it, and looking back and thinking “I did it” and not “what if?”

Despite some of the reality of life as a boss girl in my previous post I would also like to share the things I have been fortunate to say I’ve done (with the support of my team). I have had some lovely messages throughout the time of the shop, we’ve had notes left on the tables saying we’ve made someone’s day better with smile, we’ve influenced people to set up businesses because they felt it was possible, we’ve been a getaway for stressed and hectic lives, we’ve been someone to talk to, and we’ve donated to various different charities. All this has made the last two years worth it!

Where’s my journey to now you may be wondering?

ANSWER: Where ever I want it to be...because remember YOU can create the life you love

To our followers, stay tuned...follow my journey...and remember this isn’t the end of a dream, its just a break, we will be back soon...with your cake fix, until then everyone is on a diet 😜 and remember to support independent businesses because they need you Starbucks don’t ❤️

Today I close the door The Cake Club
I open the door to the future,
Take a deep breath,
And start a new journey in my life...

I am truly overwhelmed by the kindness of all my lovely customers, family and friends. I am grateful to you all for showing your support on the final week of our opening. I am sorry to those we had to turn away as we had no table space and hardly any stock. You’ve kept me busy baking this week and endless washing up (yes the dishwasher was me)

My heart was touched with your kind words and hugs today, I cannot explain the feeling, to me you are not just customers you are people I loved talking to, you made me smile and brightened my day and I hope on some of the days I did the same for you.

The current team Lauren, Laura, Holly and Emily (and Vic my friend who I hustle into working for free every weekend in exchange for cake payments) have been a pleasure to work with, it’s never been a boss and staff relationship, its been a lets have fun kinda job, that’s what The Cake Club is all about, smiles, coffee and cake (obviously)

At this moment, the reality hasn’t quite sunk in that I made my last latte in the shop, I’m pretty sure it will tomorrow. For now I am doing what you all are doing, making lunch for tomorrow, ironing clothes, washing my hair and getting ready for work, that Sunday feeling 🤦‍♀️

You have all been amazing this week...it’s been lovely to see everyone pop in to say goodbye and buy some cakes, you’ve definitely kept me busy baking. We’ve been making some more treats ready for our final day tomorrow. Come see us, eat cake, drink coffee, and forget the diets...

2019...to the beginning of a new chapter...

To our lovely customers and supporters I sadly announce today that The Cake Club will be closing in 2019.

Two years ago I set up a dream...took a risk...accepted a challenge...and gave it my all. I had a blank canvas and watched my dad put together a place I have been lucky enough to call “my coffee shop”
We agreed, disagreed, increased the profits of McDonalds, worked early mornings and late nights which turned into early mornings and opened The Cake Club on 25 February 2017.

My memory of the opening day?...stepping into a shop that felt like a dream come true, hugs and a big high five from my dad (which are rare) to say “we did it”, family and friends from near and far to show support and eat cake. Working with strangers who have now become friends, having no idea what to do, boss girl?...me...hmmm not sure about that...note to staff was “smile and have fun”. Then the worry that no one will turn up...but all you lovely people turned up to show your support, and we sold out of cake in our first hour, how i misjudged how much to bake! Then we went to “serving coffee only” for the rest of the day and the coffee machine decided to stop working, thank god for a knight in shining armour (well jeans and T-shirt really).
It was the start of an sweet journey! 🧁

My friends and family have been a pillar of support throughout my journey and I cannot thank them enough. We’ve created laughter and memories which will live on forever. I am no barista and I wouldn’t say I am a pro baker...I’ve made mistakes, learnt, tried harder and comeback. I am a big foodie and The Cake Club was the place I wanted everyone to feel at ease, relax and switch off from life over a cake and coffee. I succeeded.

I have been fortunate to have a fantastic team and amazing customers who I share my success with.

Thank you for supporting a small independent business, you supported a dream

We will be open for our final week form 9 January 2019 to 14 January 2019
