Last week I spent time just observing my nursery class during loose parts play, and it reminded me why it matters so much.
With no set outcome or adult direction, I saw creativity, problem solving, storytelling and real joint play/collaboration unfold naturally.
Simple resources (inc my winning carboard tubes lol) became so many different things β revisited, reworked and reimagined again and again.
I do understand why this can feel difficult in schools, with so many pressures around outcomes and progress, but moments like these are learning too.
Itβs a reminder that some of the richest learning happens when we step back.
