Following yesterday’s post, I had quite a few messages asking if I’ll be doing the deals that I used to do to make my cakes more accessible to most families. The short answer is no. I’ll be taking so few orders that it just isn’t feasible.

I do realise that so many of you would await those offers, to be able to book in your occasion cakes.

I won’t be making a habit of putting on deals like that because the way I work has changed so much.

Having said that, to mark the reopening of my order book, I will be doing ONE set of special offers, just like the old ones. Any orders I’m able to accept after that will be full price and with very limited availability. Hope this helps… Offers drop tomorrow 💗💗💗

I have a little update…

So as most of you will remember, I started my university degree last year, I anticipated finding it really difficult. I thought I’d struggle with academia after so long but I was wrong, I definitely overestimated the challenge and underestimated myself. Anyway, alongside my studies, I’m also working as a baker/chef for an amazing B Corp which I LOVE! It’s so blumming nice having colleagues after 18 years of working solo!

This summer has seen me juggle wedding season with my work schedule and all the mum stuff but it’s manageable.

Life looks so different from a year ago and I love the pace and routine. I feel really content. Wedding season 2026 has given me so much joy. It was far less taxing than previous years because I was much more intentional and selective about the work I took on. I’ve done the odd celebration cake for my day one clients whom I can’t seem to say no to and honestly, I’m glad. It’s been nice to keep my hand in and I miss the process more than I thought I would.

So… as I prepare to embark on my 2nd year at university, and continue my work as a chef/baker, I’m opening up my order book. Not just for weddings but for your celebrations too. With one caveat. I won’t be taking on more than one per week and I will be blocking out study heavy weeks where I’ll take no orders.

Thank you for rocking with me as I manoeuvre these life transitions and pivots that are par for the course in the world of single working mothers.

This page is not reaching my followers like it used to, but that’s ok. I’m not looking for masses of orders, just the opportunity to keep my craft and the love of my craft alive through intentional, high quality work for people I love to work for.
