I thought that I would update, you, my past customers and apologies to those who have contacted me for a cake for a special occasion.

Since my last post I have been told that from my last MRI that I will need two collapsed discs replaced in my neck and on one of the Vertebrae the place where the nerves come through have narrowed and pressing on my nerves. The surgeon won't know until he is 'in my neck' whether he will be able to sort out the two collapsed discs individually or have to do something with the vertebrae at C5 which already has a metal cage in place. New MRI next week so hopefully it doesn't turn up anything else!!

Big op so don't know when I will be able to 'go back to cake decorating which I think I have with drawl symptoms, but fingers crossed once they have sorted me out I can send out a massive Hurray, I can decorate cakes again

In the meantime, I wish you all stay safe and have a happy Christmas x

Unfortunately due to an issue with my neck I am unable to take on any new commissions. This leaves me with a very heavy heart because I love creating stunning and beautiful cakes with lots of tiny details that enhance them from nice to my customers going' That's wonderful! - A part of me goes into every cake that I bake and spend hours decorating to ensure that my customers, who put their faith in my ability to ensure that they not only get a cake that looks fabulous, but tastes great, and on the rare occasion that there is any left, keep fresh for about 10 days, or so my customers tell me
I have an appointment at the end of this month which will, hopefully tell me if I am able to return to doing what I love, and is such a rewarding way to earn a living. I hope that the Spinal Consultant can pull something out from his 'bag of tricks' that will enable me to go back to doing what I love

Now that the world is beginning to become a little more social, although sadly still in small groups, it is lovely to be able to create some wonderful cakes for my fabulous customers.

This was for a young ladies 18th Birthday celebration - I hope that she had a wonderful party

At the opposite end of the age group I had the huge honour of making a cake for a little girls first birthday - Mum was slightly 'shell shocked' as to where the last year had gone! We even included little lights to highlight the balloons

This week has been so busy that I have only managed to upload one of the cakes so far. Here it is and I hope that you like this. The cake topper is so sweet and sure to take some of us back in time when we were singing it as a little one

This week has allowed me the pleasure of making two beautiful cakes. A grey and white Diamond Anniversary with edible Art Deco cake lace around the outside and the second allowed me the pleasure of making a huge variety of sugar flowers. The sugar flowers were made up of exotic peony's, cosmos, hydrangea, sweet peas, roses and dainty bunches of pale pink flowers and buds to list a few. The teapot was decorated with an abundance of butterfly's and the wooden boxes has some cute bunting with flowers on it.

Another great week of creating some very different cakes. The two tier one was for a little girl who is a cheerleader and the model was made in her likeness and with one of the uniforms that they wear. Dad sent me a lovely email which I will add here: Thank you so much for the cake it’s amazing she loves it every think I asked for is spot on
Can’t thank you enough you made her day biggest smile

The Unicorn cake for Lucy was for someone who is local to me and they came to say how thrilled they were with the cake.

I feel very lucky to be able to do something that I love and that gives people pleasure - I hope that you like them

As you can see from the images, I make all styles of cake, from Novelty, to Wedding. All made using high quality ingredients, coated in ganache, iced and decorated with the utmost care.
With over 40 years experience, I have made cakes in all shapes and sizes!
New and varied styles of cakes this week. The little spaniel puppy is made to resemble the new Puppy, Daisy, hence the daisy theme. She was made from modelling chocolate, but too good to eat!
The Anniversary cake was a present from Family who couldn't visit due to Covid 19, so instead of flowers, they asked me to bake a cake and deliver it for them - they were thrilled and very surprised!
The suitcase cake was made as a 30th birthday cake with no less than 14 luggage labels to represent the countries that the birthday girl had visited - I was slightly envious at the wonderful countries that she had the pleasure to visit.

This stunning wedding cake with pearl lustre, handcrafted beading and applique design with flowers and leaves giving an added dimension.

The butterfly's were all hand cut so that they could have slightly different leaves then hand painted with wonderful shades of teal, blue and purple and a gold painted design to compliment the gold laurel leaves.

The butterfly's are all individual and perfect to represent the beauty of a couples love for each other

This suitcase was to be a surprise for not only a 30th birthday, and a trip to Tenerife as well - They still had the cake but unfortunately the aeroplane had to be made of modelling paste and with the best will in the world, would never get to Tenerife! - Hopefully they will be able to go on holiday in the near future

I gave myself a challenge of seeing how many variations using sugar flowers that I could create on one three tier wedding cake. It's amazing how changing the variety of flowers totally changes the look of a cake. It will be interesting to know if anyone can identify the flowers on the first photograph
