Ever since visiting I have been a little obsessed with gilda. If you are an olive, anchovy and hot pepper fan, this is the snack for you. En route to Wales we stopped in Ludlow and picked up olives and guindilla chillies and Ortiz anchovies from a the wonder . The best ingredients for the best tasting gilda.

Our holiday has come to an early end as our beloved VW camper van, Bluebell, had to make her way back to Lechlade alone yesterday for some TLC on her gear box. We made the most of our last night and morning by dining and having an early morning paddle in the estuary. I am not convinced the paddle was a good choice after last night’s indulgence but it was lovely to be on the water. If you are ever in this neck of the woods, is an absolute must. Delicious food and ambience, and to top it all, such brilliant value for money.

Day 4 of our holiday was a little bit of a challenge. Our beautiful VW Camper Van, Bluebell decided to play up a bit en route to our second destination in Kingsbridge, Devon. Our transport woes were soon forgotten once we entered this most enchanting of places, overlooking an estuary. We were lucky enough to extend our stay by a night in the vain hope that we can get Bluebell sorted. I can think of far worse places to be stranded!
