Did you know greater flamingos aren’t actually born pink? They’re born grey or white, and their beautiful pink feathers develop naturally over time thanks to carotenoids, pigments found in the algae and tiny crustaceans they eat.

So it turns out flamingos really are what they eat!

Just goes to show, beautiful things start with good ingredients. 🩷

Bakeshed is open from 10am today until sell out! I have lots of empires, scones and caramel tarts but not much red velvet or bakewell so come early if you want something specific. Sorry but carrot cake is all gone. This is the last opening day until Thursday 22nd of October as I’m on holiday now for a week.
