I have had a few messages saying they would like to donate you can do this via the link in the comments or you can give it to us on Monday at our Pop Up Cafe or Saturday at Galgate Children’s Treat (we will have a stall) all money raised will be sent next Sunday 21.06.2026!

Today at 10:30 we will be doing a bake sale on the driveway next to our Bake Hut!

Raising money for men’s mental health awareness!

We still have availability for both dates!🫶🏼

In our 2.5 hour workshop you will be educated on how to decorate a 6” vanilla sponge cake with choice of raspberry or strawberry jam. You will have free range of coloured buttercream, nozzles for pipping, sprinkles, edible glitter & toppers.

You’ll leave with your edible master piece to enjoy that evening with an extra glass or the following day with a brew… even for breakfast no judgement here & a step my step guide incase you want to take up cake decorating in your spare time.

You will be supplied with all equipment needed to carry out the workshop. We just ask that you bring yourself & a bottle/drink. But if you would like to bring your own apron please do but there will be a disposal one available.

The Blue Barn Candle Company most beautiful candles & wax melts! 🫶🏼

The lovely Jess at Thirteenbakes in Galgate baked this gorgeous cake for me yesterday just so I could use it to take lots of photos of my hand-dipped skinny candles. One of the best things about running a tiny business is the huge amount of support I get from other small businesses. It’s like being a part of a mutual appreciation club! If I named them all, this post would take you ages to read!
For now, a huge thanks to Jess and, if you like the idea of some fancy hand-dipped candles (lots of colours possible) for a special cake… you know who to ask! 😉

WALKING4HOPE!!

This morning I had the privilege to meet John & Graham while they was walking through Galgate!
WHAT AMAZING MEN YOU ARE!!!!

Two dads who have lost their sons to su***de, are walking from John O’Groats to Land’s End in 48 days!!! John will be carry this bathtub every single step, carrying ducks with names of those who are no longer with us!

They aim to raise £100,000, The money raised will help support others!! Please click on the link & read their story!

Good morning,

We would like to address any confusion around our business - Thirteen Bakes. It is a lengthy post but please read!

I have had multiple people ask/tell me over the past few weeks that they thought/have been told that we was no longer doing a Pop Up Cafe & was planning on closing down the bake hut!

This information ISN’T correct!!!

BAKE HUT.
We open
Friday 09:00 - 20:00
Saturday 8:30 - 20:00
Sunday 08:30 - 20:00

Where you will find bakes, cakes, fresh bread & sourdough granola.
We will be honest the bake hut has been quieter than usual the past two weekends - I know other bakers have found this too, we understand treats are the first thing to be cut, in life when the general living is going up & up! But if you can please shop locally & support small!

POP UP CAFE, Ellel Village Hall.
Monday 10:30 - 13:30
Where you will find fresh cake & bakes, homemade soups (with the warmer weather coming we have had requests for our pasta & salad dishes) if you have ever had one of our buffets or attended the Easter crafts cafe you may have seen or had these dishes - we do a gluten free option too.

The Cafe is held in the Foyer & Mayne Hall, in the Mayne hall you will find toys, mat play & colouring for the little ones. You can work from the Hall too using our WiFi.

We started our pop up cafe back in September & have found we have had a great impact on a group of villagers that come on a weekly basis who have bonded a lovely friendship.
•Disability parking & access.
•Unfortunately we aren’t dog friendly.

WORKSHOPS.
We carried out our first workshop last night & it was a great success, it seemed everyone enjoyed the experience & had multiple people book on for our next workshops. If you wish to come please do contact us as we keep the workshop to a maximum of 15 people. - Thank you to everyone who came & supported our first workshop!

🥚EGG HUNT! 🥚

Now finished, thank you to everyone who has taken part!!

Good Morning & Happy Easter. 🐰

As promised we are back with our hunt for the children! This time we have one riddle in the comments, once you think you know the answer head to the destination, there you will find a sign near by (painted with flowers & eggs) this will hold another riddle, once you have worked it out head to the next destination… here you will find a egg with a arrow on, Follow the eggs until you find the “Happy Easter” Sign … wooo you have done it here there is 13 small plastic eggs hidden!!

Same rules apply: we ask you keep it to egg per child & bring it along with you to claim your treat!

•Please collect your treat between 9:30 & 13:30 from Thirteen Bakes - 13 Vernon Park!!
The Bake Hut is open as usual all weekend while stocks last & we will have a stall at the village hall on Monday along with other artisan stall holders for Leap & Bounds annual duck race 11am - 3pm

So get your wellies on & have fun!

This is all for fun, please be careful & mindful of other’s when hunting, all areas are publicly accessible & areas your children will know by visiting or walking by. Treats have already been put to one side for this game so please ring door bell to collect. Treats cannot be exchanged for money, a different treat or to use at a later date. If your child has an allergy we have bought bunny chocolates that are wheat, milk, soya & nuts free! (We have got a few extra treats incase you have multiple children but not enough eggs left)!
