A couple of suggestions came through to get a few of the reusable canvas bags bags to go at the bottom of The Cake Shed - they’d be £3 to purchase (I wouldn’t be making anything from these - this is just what it costs to make). Today I received a letter through the post to say that Amy’s Bakes & Cakes has been nominated for Best Bakery in the Yorkshire Retail Business Awards 2026! 🧁✨

The biggest mystery is… I have absolutely no idea who nominated me! 🤭

So, whoever you are, if you’re reading this, I just want to say a massive THANK YOU. The fact that someone thought enough of my little business to put us forward for an award is amazing! 🥹

At the moment I don’t think I’ll be entering the awards as there is an entry fee involved, but regardless of what I decide, being nominated in the first place is such a lovely compliment and something I’m incredibly grateful for. 🩷

I’m so excited for next week! 🥹✨

Our OG Cake Shed is heading to her very first event! (See details in the picture below👇)

I’m feeling a mixture of nervous and excited because I’ve never taken one of the sheds anywhere further than the end of the driveway before! 🙈😂

We’re venturing out into the big wide world for a few hours and I honestly can’t wait! 🤍

Don’t worry though — our main Cake Shed at home will still be open as usual if you can’t make it to the family fun day! 🧁✨

I’m thinking of doing things a little differently for Father’s Day this year! 🤍

Rather than offering pre-set boxes, I’m thinking of baking extra for The Cake Shed and adding some lovely gift bags so you can create your own Father’s Day treat selection!

That way you can pick all of Dad’s favourites and make it as big or as little as you’d like. 😍
