I honestly don’t know what to say 🥹

Today my amazing team surprised me with flowers, bubbly and the sweetest card to celebrate 5 years of Corner Cottage.

Reading their words meant more to me than they probably realise. Building this bakery hasn’t always been easy, but seeing what we’ve created together, from the tiny Kineton shop to where we are now makes me incredibly proud.

To my wonderful team: thank you for your hard work, loyalty, humour, support and for caring about Corner Cottage as much as I do. I couldn’t have done any of this without you ❤️

Here’s to the next chapter The poem in the card reads:-
To Sarah,

Five years of Corner Cottage
That’s really quite a feat!
But of course, our bread’s amazing
And our pasties can’t be beat

Just look how far we’ve come
Since those initial crazy days
Five of us weaving through
Kineton’s tiny space

It certainly is easier
In Park Street’s sprawling shop
With far more room to move
(And a lot more floor to mop!)

Both shops are truly thriving
They’re as gorgeous as our cakes
Filled with scents of coffee
And all our lovely bakes

Not all of it’s been smooth
At times it has been tough
But your smile’s full of joy
And your pastry’s full of puffs

So this is just to let you know
We’re proud to be your crew
Cos CCB is awesome
And it’s all because of you

These five years have been epic
Of that you can be sure

Kineton Bakery is 5 today 🎉

What a rollercoaster it’s been. After being made redundant, I went back to my first love, baking,and took a leap. It started with just me, Vicky and Alice, figuring things out as we went… and somehow, here we are five years later with two thriving shops and a team of 28.
Every step of this journey has been built on hard work, resilience, and a very clear vision of what I wanted to create. Nothing was handed to me, just long days, tough decisions, and a lot of can do attitude.

I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built, but even more proud of the team around me. Every single one of them shows up with passion, graft and pride in what they do, and that’s what makes our bakeries what they are.

Here’s to staying true to your craft, backing yourself, and building something real 💛
