W&J Knox is delighted to announce that we have entered into a distribution agreement with Bio Marine for the supply of Bio Marine’s lice skirt and treatment tarpaulin solutions to the Scottish and Irish aquaculture markets.

Combined with our capability to inspect, wash and service lice skirts, this new partnership will provide customers with comprehensive support through the product lifecycle.

Bio Marine Sales Manager, Nils Hovden, believes that Knox is the ideal partner for Bio Marine. “Together we can provide UK fish farmers with high-quality lice skirt solutions, backed by responsive local support and industry knowledge.”

Bio Marine lice skirts and treatment tarpaulins are a perfect addition to the Knox portfolio. Our MD, Finlay Oman, commented that this partnership strengthens our commitment to deliver value to customers and support a sustainable aquaculture industry.

🌟 Everyone at Knox was really sad at the retiral this month of our much-appreciated colleague, Alex Muirhead. Alex has worked in the engineering department at Knox for 19 years and was truly a master of all trades.

While on a family holiday in Italy, Rhuaraidh from W&J Knox Ltd, one of our trusted suppliers of nets spotted this Wester Ross Salmon box beside his table at il Gufo e la Coccinella in Fiano Romano.

Rhuaraidh said that finding a piece of Wester Ross in the Italian countryside was an unexpected reminder that you’re never too far from home, no matter where you travel. Having grown up near our farms and attended school in Ullapool, it made the discovery all the more special.

Thanks for sharing, Rhuaraidh. It’s always great to see Wester Ross Salmon and our artisan box appearing in unexpected corners of the world.

We’d like to give a special mention to the Knox net technicians who came to Aquaculture UK to gain a greater understanding of the industry and thoroughly enjoyed their visit. The camera-shy ones got a lot out of it too!

When many of them started in the industry with us it was feed scoops, paper records and 9x9m nets to now fully automated feeding, AI tech and 200m nets! 🐟

🐟 And just like that another Aquaculture UK is complete! Sore feet, too much coffee, but lots of interesting people and conversations, from customers to suppliers to MSPs and foreign delegations.

During the show, we were delighted to sign a distribution agreement with BioMarine for lice skirts and tarpaulin products.

Only 2 years till Aquaculture UK 2028, when we’ll be celebrating a very significant milestone in Knox history- 250 years! 🌟
