It’s with a heavy heart that we share some difficult news…
After much thought and consideration, we will be closing The Village Grocer, with the business now entering liquidation.
This hasn’t been an easy decision. Like many small, independent businesses, we’ve faced increasing challenges over recent times — from rising supplier costs and fuel prices to a noticeable drop in footfall. Despite doing everything we could to keep things going, it’s sadly no longer been commercially viable.
We want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to every single one of you who has supported us — whether you popped in for your weekly shop, stopped by for a chat, or simply chose to support local. Your loyalty, kindness, and community spirit have meant more than we can ever put into words.
The Village Grocer has always been about more than just a shop — it’s been about people, connection, and being part of something local and special. We’re incredibly proud of what we built together.
We’ll share more details shortly regarding final opening days and any closing-down arrangements.
