I don’t personally know Will, but his story has felt very close to home. Living and working locally, I couldn’t just see what had happened and not want to do something to help.

I had actually planned to do something for the fundraiser last weekend, but I was working on a wedding and it turned into a very busy and chaotic weekend for me…

Now that Will is on his way back to the UK (according to the local news….) and the GoFundMe is still open, I’ve decided that 40% of everything sold at The Cake Shed this weekend will be donated directly to his fundraiser.

Although the initial fundraising target has now been reached, there is still a long road ahead for Will and his family, with his recovery, rehabilitation and the ongoing costs of care, equipment and adaptations.

So, if you fancy a cake, cookie, brownie or something sweet this weekend, you can enjoy a little treat while helping in some small way too. 🤍

Made with a compote of figs and white chocolate , all delicately infused with lemon verbena, with a buttery almond cream underneath.

And the figs? Locally grown by a neighbour and friend from Levens, picked and brought straight from her garden. 🫶🏼

A little taste of Levens, made into something sweet. Available at the shed 😍
