Hi folks,
It's been a while... I hope you're all doing ok 🙂
This post has taken me so long to write as every time I tried I'd just end up so emotional and the words just never seemed right. But here it is.. it's time for me to say goodbye to my little Cakery. As much as this decision has broken my heart and believe me, I've gone back and forth for months, I know that ultimately I have to make my health and well-being my number one priority right now. Something that doesn't really come very naturally to me it seems.
Opening the Cakery was something I daydreamed about for so long while baking from my little kitchen at home. Not realising that in doing so I would meet some of the most amazing people along the way. I truly can't put into words how grateful I am for the loyalty and unwavering support over the past 7 years (even through a bloody pandemic and all that came with it). It's been a rollercoaster from day 1, so many ups and downs and everything in-between. I've learned a lot of lessons along the way, some of the hardest. This was so much more than a little cake shop to me and I'll always be proud of what we built here on our little Fellgate Estate, our beautiful community of truly wonderful people... and dogs. Every queue you waited in, every bespoke cake order, every kind word, every recommendation allowed me to make my dream a reality and you'll never know how much that means to me.
An extra special thank you to my one in a million Grandad and crazy Auntie Tracy for being my team mates. Always fighting my corner and keeping me going, even on the hardest days. I couldn't have done any of it without both of you.
So for right now at least, its goodbye from me...
