Buffets and take aways After the success of our stall at Horbury Street Fair, Rich and Fancy opened their coffee shop at 13 Queen Street in Horbury in October 2015 and expanded into N

o 11 in 2024. Richard creates home made, delicious cakes, hearty soups, healthy salads, celebration cakes, pies, afternoon teas and tasty hot and cold sandwiches made with beautiful bread from local suppliers. Our afternoon and cream teas are a real favourite and we always make them extra special for events such as Easter, Christmas and Valentine's Day. Tables can be reserved on request and the coffee shop can be opened specially on a Sunday for special occasions. Our supper clubs on a Saturday evening are also a real hit with 3 delicious courses using the best fish, meat and vegetables. We have lots of other events like our regular psychic supper, floristry, beauty, art and well being evenings. If you'd like to hire our coffee shop for an event please contact us. Rich and Fancy Cupcakes also produce delicious hand made cupcakes for all occasions. Richard a chef for 30 years, with his wife Lou are passionate about their small, family business, producing food that is both delicious and has the wow factor. We are committed to supporting our business friends in the local town of Horbury by using their produce to make our food. We use the butcher's, greengrocers, bakers, supermarket and some of the other shops to create our wonderful food. We believe that Horbury is a very special and unique town and we love independents. We employ wonderful staff who are all trained in food hygiene and safety and customer service so you experience the very best welcome. We price our food fairly and you are welcome to bring a bottle to our establishment and we can provide the glass hire for a voluntary contribution of just £1.50. We accept card or cash payments.

My birthday cake this year is a little bit different....Rich brought out this beauty this evening. Lemon meringue with a layer of fresh raspberries on top! Delicious . I may need help eating this!! Any offers?.Love Lou xx

Watch this space. Im really enjoying meeting everyone. So far we have discussed journelling, yoga, decoupage and tomorrow i am meeting someone about candles...and a few more booked in too!

Why not book your party or get together at Rich and Fancy cupcakes and coffee shop

Yesterday we hosted a children's baking party with afternoon tea. This is a real treat, being taught how to bake by chef Rich and a lot of fun.

This afternoon we are hosting a large get together with a selection of handmade pies and peas and cakes and coffee.

We have just taken a booking for a small team meeting in the upstairs studio with lunch and drinks throughout the day. All rooms have big windows with beautiful view of quaint Queen Street.

All food is handmade by Rich.

I am slowly working through the messages you have sent about potential workshops and events. We have been blown away with the amount of people who want to come and share their talents for our community. A new blackboard will be going up in No 11 with events soon so the blackboard in No 13 is all about the food!

I will definitely be in touch with you over the weekend. I have met with 2 wonderful people this morning who have shared their ideas and passion and I absolutely loved our discussions about how we could use our fabulous spaces.

We are having a fabulously busy day and people saying they've missed our breakfast club and wonderful coffee....and now we have a baking party!!

We are on the look out for passionate people who would like to host a workshop or event at our shop, as we build our portfolio for 2026.

Don't be put off, if you have never done a workshop before and require some support in planning or a partnership with your first one, Rich, a qualified chef is on hand for anyone who has a food offer and Lou, a qualified secondary teacher for those who wish to do something such as crafts and art related activities. We have supported many people hosting events. We also have an audience of almost 6k followers and we can advertise the event for you, or take bookings.

If you are already experienced in delivering workshops and events, we welcome you also and would love to hear your ideas. So what kind of things are we hoping to offer:

Art classes and workshops
Craft workshops and events
Well being events.
Singing groups.
Baking clubs
Writing/poetry workshops
Quizzes and games
Eat in food pop ups-different to what Rich hosts
Take away pop ups
Things we haven't even thought of!! Come share your talent...

We do require your workmanship to be of a high standard and if working with food, related qualifications and food safety and hygiene certificates.

We also would prefer to keep the offer low to mid cost, in line with our ethos to provide an excellent offer that is financially accessible for people in our community.

If you are interested come and have a chat over a cuppa and tell us about your idea. There is availability for the daytime and evening.

Our Story

We love January. In the Gatfield household, January is the month of birthdays, a new fresh month and year and brings crisp, cold days, where we can wrap up warm to walk our dog or stay in and bake, cook, write and draw. We are quite a creative family! This January feels special as it is the start of new decade and we are excited about our new ideas for our beautiful, well loved coffee shop.

After the success of our stall at Horbury Street Fair and our business working from home, Richard and Louise Gatfield, opened our coffee shop at 13 Queen Street in Horbury in October 2015. Richard, a chef with over 20 years experience, creates home made, delicious cakes, hearty soups, healthy salads and tasty hot and cold sandwiches made with beautiful bread from a local bakery. We serve Yorkshire Tea, Laughing Goat freshly roasted coffee, refreshing, sparkling drinks, milk shakes and delicious hot chocolate. Our afternoon and cream teas are a real favourite and we are voted number 1 on trip advisor for dessert in Horbury. Tables can be reserved on request and the coffee shop can be opened specially for parties on a weekend and after hours for special occasions.

Over the last 4 years we have developed our business and established a wonderful, relaxed place for our customers. We have hosted fabulous parties for children, baby showers, milestone birthdays and watched children make gingerbread houses, learn how to bake and shared the laughter with you. 2019 was very special as our daughter Maisie hosted her very own Christmas cupcake workshop, which at the age of 8 was a real achievement.

Our Saturday night supper club was launched in 2017, where our customers can enjoy a 3 course freshly cooked meal, with fish, meat and vegetarian options. We are so pleased with how popular the supper club has become and love the atmosphere of the twinkly lights, soft music and delicious, tasty food. We now open until 5pm on a weekday (except Wednesdays) to provide a warm, cosy place for children to come after school with their families and also for people finishing work or calling into Horbury to visit the many wonderful shops.
