It is based in a converted 19th century barn on a working dairy farm, so the source of good quality food is very close to our hearts. Speckled Hen was started in 2002 with the aim of giving people traditional baking that was really tasty. The recipes have been carefully developed to give customers the best possible flavours without using any artificial additives and only the type of ingredients yo

u’d use at home. Above all, we have tried to keep that homemade style. All we’ve done at Speckled Hen Country Bakery is to do what you’d do at home, but do it on a bigger scale. If you saw our bakery, everything we do would look familiar to you. We also want to encourage others to bake and cook. You can attend many different kinds of courses run through our cookery school or even try one of our children’s baking parties which are great fun. With both there is always something tasty to take home and show the family! Speckled Hen Children’s Parties offer a range of baking and craft parties, give children the chance to learn new skills while having great fun. We do everything for you and provide everything you need - all the food and drink for the party, optional party bags, balloons and birthday cakes and above all, expert supervision from our own highly-experienced staff. All you need to do is bring your children and let them enjoy themselves - no venue to book or mess to clear up! Everyone goes home really happy with something special to show and share with everyone. Located in a recently converted nineteenth century barn, the meeting rooms combine the charm of rural life with simple contemporary living. It is hard to believe that this idyllic rural setting, is just two miles from Junction 18 of the M6, close to Holmes Chapel and is within easy access of Manchester International Airport and a comprehensive rail network giving full access to all major cities. ‘The Granary’ is a family run business, that prides itself on its excellent facilities, friendly, professional staff and delicious local and homemade produce, helping to make your event not only a successful one but an enjoyable one too.
