Congratulations to Charlie and James who were married at the beginning of the month at The Lawn. They celebrated with this white chocolate ganache covered cake featuring pearls and artificial flowers. Their flavours were Red Velvet, Biscoff and Chocolate orange.

Aleks & Thales wedding cake featured edible, pressed, dried flowers set over a whitened chocolate ganache. The cake was then topped with these super fun personalised funko figures (which did steal the show). Their cakes were tropical and coconut sponge at the top and morello cherry and chocolate at the base.

I loved working with the edible flowers to create this delicate natural finish which complemented their wedding theme perfectly.

Congratulations to Charlotte and Oliver who were married last month at Blake Hall Weddings. Their cake reflected their sage green and white colour palette and featured hand-made sugar flower and foliage. Without a doubt, making flowers is my absolute favourite part of cake decorating and it was lovely to have the opportunity to make these flowers. The cake was a mix of salted caramel, lemon and elderflower, and raspberry and white chocolate sponges and was finished in white Couture sugarpaste decorated with a natural hand-painted finish.

I've got many cakes I've not had time to post photos of and this is one made for Deborah's 60th Birthday celebrations back in 2024. It featured handmade models of her own violin and the instruments belonging to her other quartet members, along with music they were going to be playing as part of the celebrations. A real joy to make this cake and lovely to know how much it was appreciated.

Congratultions to Emma and David who
celebrated their marriage with an intimate twilight
wedding at The Lawn a couple of weeks ago.

Their 2 tier cake featured lemon & elderflower and chocolate
orange sponges. The fresh flowers, supplied by
Christines of Hockley, were carefully prepared using
tape and posy picks to protect the cake and were
removed before serving. Emma & David also had 2
individually boxed cupcakes made for guests with
gluten intolerences.

A special 18th Birthday cake for Bella, celebrating her upcoming adventures looking after turtles in Greece.

The colouring for this cake was inspired by Bella having to get up at dawn to go to the turtle beach to help in their conservation efforts. I airbrushed the sea and sky effect, added crushed biscuits to create the sand, hand-modelled these cute turtles and underwater plants & corals and used edible prints for the photo, passport and flag.

This cake was made for Sandie's 70th Birthday celebrations. It featured a hand-made sugar peony surrounded by delicate hydrangea flowers and an acrylic topper. Sandie's name on the front was created using embosser lettering highlighted with a subtle gold edible paint. Her cake was a family favourite of traditional sponge, multi-layered with butter icing and raspberry jam.

Congratulations to Janine and Barry who were married last month at Roslin Beach Hotel in Southend, Essex. The design for their wedding cake was inspired by their wedding stationery, beautiful beach front setting, and delicate lace decoration on Janine's wedding dress. The top tier was chocolate orange sponge and the base tier was strawberries and ch*****ne sponge. The shells and starfish were a mix of moulded and hand-shaped icing which, along with the pearls and flowers, were all edible. Non-edible accents of grass and dried flowers were then also added to enhance the design.

They added 3 cupcakes made with gluten free flour for guests who do not eat gluten. These were topped with butter icing swirls and icing shells, before being set in clear boxes and tied with matching ribbon.

Congratulations to Emily and Matt who celebrated their wedding at The Old Parish Rooms with this natural, icing sugar dusted, 2 tier cake. They opted for a top tier of lemon and elderflower sponge and the bottom tier was chocolate sponge.

I decorated the cake with non-edible flowers, supplied by Christine's of Hockley. The flowers, which were all carefully prepared using posy picks to protect the cake, were removed before serving. This cute display was then topped with a pretty bunting topper.
