I wanted to write and explain what is going on and the reasons why we have decided to remain closed.
Firstly though, I want to say a huge thank you to all our amazing customers, especially our customers who use us week in, week out, as without you, the business would not have lasted 5 minutes.
As most of you know by now I suffer with Artritis in my lower back aswell as other issues todo with it, well next week because the first lot of blockers didn't work, they want me to have a full dose of injections in my back as a Hail Mary, they dont think it will do anything but want to try everything to help. On top of that we have secured a large event for next week which is amazing but given my circumstances I dont want to push running a shop and doing an event and as I know what ill be earning, the event trumps the shop. Further more I am finding it harder as time goes on, to be able to put in the physical demands that the job needs to be able to push it to the next level as my body is holding me back.
Talking of trade and earnings, I now am coming to my second point as to why the shop remains closed.
While Hitchin is a beautiful town and many of the independent business's are helpful, friendly and act almost like a family, the town itself is hugely flawed, if your business isnt on the high street, or by the churchyard then footfall is just non exsistant, and we dont feel very supported by the Bid either in truth but I wont go into it more here, Landlords are just as useless without a care in the world of who moves in, yes let Hitchin have its 25 barber shop and 100th shop that offers coffee, cant get enough of that!
With the reasons of health and the fact that the business just frankly isn't working at the current location, I've decided to close it in its current form.
Next week's event will be the last we do from the shop.
Again, I wish to thank everyone for their support over the last 4 years and who knows what the future brings. And to our regulars, we will miss you massively!
All the best everyone x
