Name one thing that gives you SO much anxiety but you love doing anyway: A LONG CAKE. 😭🎂
This stunner was for A&Z, who celebrated their Nikkah at Cambridge Marina. They absolutely loved the cake, and their lovely feedback made the whole process so worth it! 🥹
A little backstory to this cake…
I had 45 minutes to put the two already-coated cakes together (because my fridge couldn’t fit the whole thing), finish the centre with buttercream, pipe all the borders and ruffles, and get it boxed.
And nobody warned me about the STREAKS you get when you put fresh, deep-coloured buttercream onto chilled, deep-coloured buttercream. 😭😭😭 SO. STRESSFUL.
45 minutes sounded like plenty of time, but somehow it felt like 10 minutes. 😂
I was just over the moon that I managed to pull it off, even though I still had to finish the flowers and fruit at the venue… in front of the guests. DOUBLE ANXIETY. 🙈😂
But seeing how much A&Z loved their cake made every stressful second worth it. ❤️
