Happy Halloween! 🦇🎃🕷️

A whole week has passed since we started our Spooktacular Countdown... and here as promised is my latest spooky creation, featuring the birthday girl working her magic, dressed in the colours of the Hufflepuff house team 🦡

This cake features a fully removable handcrafted sugar top, meaning the birthday girl gets to keep it as a memento of her special day 😍👻

I can't believe that this week is going so quickly... we're at day 6 in our Spooktacular run up to Halloween already! 😮

I'd like to say a big thank you to one of my customers (you know who you are) for not only commissioning me to make a Stranger Things cake for her husband's 40th Birthday, but also insisting that I watch the cult TV series for myself... so I did! 😍

Now I'm a devoted ST fan and I am literally dying of suspense waiting for season 4 to be released, early next year.

By the way, the demogorgon head on this cake is not anatomically accurate 😆 As part of the brief, I was asked to make it look more like a flower, as there were young children present at the party 🌸 😊

Watch out for tomorrow, when I will reveal my brand new, unseen on social media to date, Halloween cake 2021! 🎃👻

Here we are with day 5 in the run up to Halloween 🩸👻

This cake is a mix of The Punisher and Red Hood and features some hand painting, which I did using edible cocoa paint... not technically a Halloween cake, but all the same given the blood and skulls , it seemed to fit.

Look out for day 6 tomorrow... any guesses? 💀

Spooktacular countdown to Halloween day 4! Or may be it's more of a 'count-up' as we started at number 1 😆

I made this three tier mix of bloody zombie flesh, Dias de los Mu***os and evil pumpkin for a birthday girl celebrating on Halloween night. It's hard to believe that I made this cake back in 2019... it seems like it was just yesterday!🎃

I've never quite made up my mind if the pumpkin is evil looking or just moody... what do you think? 🤔

It seems like just yesterday that I made this Asterix cake for my youngest daughter's birthday. It was in fact just over a year ago and it took me 23 hours to make, in the middle of a searing heatwave! Despite the heat and the setbacks which it brought (fondant and buttercream don't react well to extreme heat 🤦😆) I thoroughly enjoyed bringing our favourite characters to life 😍

Many people have commented on this cake, saying that they hadn't previously heard of Asterix... so I'd love to hear what your favourite characters are, especially if they are slightly more unusual. Please let me know in the comments below ❤️

I will be revealing the cake I made for her this year, during October as it has a distinctively Halloween vibe to it 🎃 so watch this space!
