It comes with a very heavy heart that for the foreseeable future I will not be taking on new orders.
All those that have paid a deposit, please do not worry, I will honour your order.
I’ve two reasons for this;
1) I do not spend enough time with my soon to be 3 year old daughter. People always say to treasure the moments whilst they are young and by baking, I’m missing out on so much. She is my only crazy toddler so I need to soak her up.
2) Financially MC is costing me money! Currently I’m earning around £1.20 an hour (if I’m lucky) when baking/decorating. That does not included time spent on admin. I’m having to put my own money in to keep topping up stock and sadly, this isn’t working anymore. So many beautiful cakes have gone out the door, having made nothing. This isn’t my main job but I sadly can not make cakes for a negative return. I’ve played with the idea of putting my prices up but that doesn’t solve my biggest heartache and that’s not playing with my daughter.
I will continue to bake but with my daughter, like I did before starting MC, so photos will still pop up and I’m happy to bake for friends - should they still want to use me. But for now, Marvellous Crumbs is closing - this also breaks my heart as I’ve found something I’m rather good at and love doing. This decision has not been taken lightly.
