Happy New Year Everyone, sorry it’s so late! It has been a busy start to the year in the Lilah Boo kitchens. I just wanted to show you a few of the cakes we’ve started this year off with - the unicorn being my most favourite 🦄😍

With all the resolutions, January is probably not the best month for cake but another lockdown sure is!!! All cakes are available in a range of flavours and as a coeliac myself we specialise in gluten free!! 🙌🏻

One of last weeks cakes. A McDonald’s themed cake for Chloe. Layers of Vanilla and Chocolate sponge filled with a white chocolate buttercream and fondant toppings. To finish, what Big Mac is complete without a portion of fondant fries, strawberry layered chocolate milkshake cake and gherkins on the side! 🍔🎂🥳

Lilah Boo Cakes

Hi, my name is Claire and I began baking about 10 years ago. I made a Shaun the Sheep cake for my son’s 1st birthday and my passion for cake decorating began. Luckily I have an enormous amount of nieces and nephews so the opportunity to practice was always there. I got diagnosed with coeliacs disease a few years later and my love of baking dwindled because I couldn’t taste them and my confidence shrank. I still baked for the family but the fire I needed to take it further and go public was gone. Fast forward a few years and a few amazing gluten free receipes later and I am once again confident and happy with my bakes. I specialise in mainly Gluten Free cakes but can also offer bakes to suit any dietary requirements.

I also have a partner for this adventure - my very wonderful Mum, Anne. She grew up being taught to bake by her Nan and has passed that knowledge onto me. She is a wonderful baker and her repetoire is endless.... Welsh cakes, cherry bakewells, fruit cakes and many more. She is also going to bring some of her creative talent to the page, not only does she bake she also knits, crochets, needle felts and makes dolls clothes just to name a few so look out for those as they are all adorable!
