πŸ’š IT'S TUB COLLECTION TIME AGAIN!!

🎯 Last year we collected 3,270 tubs, this year we're aiming for 5,000!

πŸ“ LOCAL DROP-OFF POINTS –
8, Weldon Road.

🍫WHAT TUBS DO WE NEED?
Roses, Celebrations, Quality Street, Heroes, Haribo, Jacobs Crackers & similar (tubs just need to have a '5' inside the little recycling triangle ♻️!

♻️ HOW THE RECYCLING HELPS MACMILLAN?
This is part of a fantastic Greene King recycling initiative. The tubs are shredded and the plastic is sold for recycling, with the money raised going directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Not only are we helping a wonderful charity, but we're also giving all that plastic another purpose instead of it ending up in landfill! πŸ’šπŸŒ

πŸ’š Please give this post a share, especially if you have friends or family living in the area. The more people who know about the collection, the closer we'll get to the 5,000-tub target! πŸ’š

πŸͺ A massive thank you to Dave Capell for allowing me to store all the tubs at his farm, free for as long as I need! β™₯️

PLAYPARK UPDATE PROJECT - SUBMIT YOUR COMMENTS AND IDEAS

The play area attached to the Village Hall is a community facility, managed by the Village Hall committee. It was formerly part of the Village School which became the Village Hall in 1974, and as such is designed mainly for primary age children, with seating areas for adults. The area is limited in size and the space is used for village events most importantly May Day which will constrain what can be included.

The play equipment was last updated some years ago and is now in need of improvements to ensure it provides fun and safe play and recreation opportunities for the village community for future years.
The Village Hall Committee is planning to undertake some work on the playground in the coming months and would like any ideas and comments from village residents and visitors (children and their carers, parents & grandparents) as to what changes they would like to see. All comments and feedback are welcome and will help support applications we will need to make for grants and funding to cover the cost.

This is an initial stage of the consultation; there will be further opportunities to have input into the plans – and any volunteers to help with the project would be welcomed.

Please send any ideas and comments by the end of November – by email to [email protected] under the heading PLAYGROUND PROJECT

The weather looks promising for Saturday morning (17th Oct), so can you make time to join us? We need to cut back ivy around some trees and tackle those thistles, so please bring your pruning saws and spades! Even a little bit of pruning, raking and tidying will help - so please come along, get involved and make a difference! See you there, 10:00 am by the Beck.....Just in time for a spooky Halloween trail!!!!
