Today marks the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week, ending in the international Wave of light at 7pm on the 15th October.
15 years ago I did not know this existed, I did not realise that once you got to full term things can still go drastically wrong with your pregnancy, nieve yep!
15 years ago I was very happily pregnant roughly 37 weeks
As many of you know i have shared ‘Our Story’ for a good few years now to let people out there know, its okay to talk about your child, not be ashamed or feel you have to hide them.
Still birth and neonatal death needs more awareness just like other causes.
Seven years ago the Government took this taboo subject for the first time to parliament and continue to do so each year during this awareness week!
In 2008 Gypsy was 1 of the 17 babies that statistics say died in 1 day, 5 years ago I believe this statistic has reduced to 15 everyday and this year status tic says 8 everyday ...still too many!
You may remember a few years ago I arranged for York Hospital to be illuminated Pink and Blue, locally Helmsley Parish Church, The Black Swan, Helmsley and Helmsley Town Council also made efforts for this to happen in Helmsley
THIS YEAR with help and support from Helmsley Run, Helmsley Sports Club, Duncombe Park, Anne Lishman and a few others other the coming days. We will have the Helmsley Ribbon Run taking place on Saturday 14th October @10.30am
This is open to anyone who wishes to complete a 5k route, if your local, on a Visit Helmsley, running walking, Jogging, with Children, with Dogs (on leads). It’s a very good track to follow. Either drop me a message to say your coming or, pop along to Duncombe park on the day and you will see us 🙂
I once more share my picture with you all with pride. Gypsy born asleep 30-10-08 a perfect 7lb12oz
By posting this i am not living in the sad past, this is now my future, where i am content.
I always thought i would be teaching my daughter about the world, I now take the role of teaching the world about my daughter.
