Hello! My name is Yasmin and I run Dodo Bakery from the corner of my converted kitchen in Hayle, Cornwall.

I will very shortly be offering local delivery and pick up of a selection of my sourdough breads, as well as vegan bars, cakes and pastries.

Nearly 2 years ago we opened Dodo Bakery in our garage, serving as a micro bakery for the local community. Alongside growing our family, it’s been a rollercoaster and the support from family, friends and customers has been really overwhelming. I really believe the need for a local bakery in every community is there and I aim to be back in business as soon as our new bundle is ready to let me!
In the meantime, I plan to spend the time away as a chance to reflect and reorganise the business so it serves customers in the best possible way when it’s back up and running again. Dodo bakery isn’t going anywhere!
Thank you everyone for all the lovely messages, comments and well wishes for our families incoming arrival! I know that closing the bakery isn’t ideal and your patience is really appreciated!
A special thanks to who came along yesterday to help with the Easter bread haul! She’s also responsible for the rebirth of my sourdough 2 years ago so it was really special to have her in the bakery for the last oven load!

The sun came back yesterday and bought with it some good dough making! ☀️ After a long winter, I finally felt less anxious about the bake off this morning.
Next week we are going to be at our dear friends very special big day, so no bread until 22nd March, but you can order in advance now on the website 👍👍

Oat porridge loaves flying out of the bakery this morning on the first day of spring!
Next week I’ll be making a new 3 seed sourdough-a wholewheat loaf packed with flax, chia and poppy seeds. DM if you’d like to grab one for Friday 8th March 🗓️

Two loaves from the same dough-the organic wholewheat sourdoughs. Just one as a tin! Easier to slice for those midweek sandwiches, but then then boule makes a lovely weekend treat…which do you prefer?
Next week I’ll be trialling a new porridge oat sourdough (tin style), a recipe very kindly gifted to me by Naomi across the pond at . If you’d like to try it with me, drop me a message! I’ll be making just 5 at an sample price of £3 👍

It’s so good to be back! 🙌 this week my mixer decided it didn’t want to come back to work, so all the bread has been handmixed. It’s not something I’ll be able to do every week but it does make a massive difference to the results! Let me know what you think of your loaves this week :) Zero temperatures and slow bread means it’s been a very calm couple of days, with nothing to do sometimes but just be patient and wait!

Merry Christmas everyone! We’re closed now for a few weeks to recover and rest with family ready for 2024. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support this year, I can’t believe this was our 3rd Christmas and you keep coming back to have our bread a part of your Christmas so thank you so much!
2024 will see the bakery take a break after May as Rory will be welcoming his baby brother into the world! We’re very excited and I’ll keep everyone posted for when we set to wind down come April.
Now to eat a mountain of pickles and we’ll see you on the other side!

Christmas is just round the corner! I’m doing a double bake this week as I’ve got the pleasure of having a stall at Penpol School Christmas fair this Wednesday 🌲 See you there for some of my favourite classic sourdough breads!
