Hello, hope you are all well!
With it being April tomorrow, my maternity leave has come to an end. Wow that went fast!
Life is hectic with 3 kids but wouldn’t change it at all, been what I always wanted.
This has been a tough decision but I think it’s time to close the door to Bite Me Cakes and Treats. The past 5 years have been great and despite a pandemic I still managed to keep going and wouldn’t have been possible without the support of all my lovely customers. My website was only going for 2 of those 5 years and yet I had over 2000 orders in that time which is amazing.
Unfortunately I find myself in the same boat as so many other small businesses.
The cost of living rise has hit hard. When looking at all my work expenses - utilities, packaging, website fees, ingredients, insurance, petrol, cleaning products (to name a few) each one has went up in cost. I mean the price of butter and eggs alone 😳…
I can’t raise my prices enough to match the cost of all the expenses.
With that in mind I’m going to take this opportunity to focus on my family, kids are only young once and time goes so fast.
I am going to really miss my work and never say never, maybe in the future I may return.
For now I want to say thank you again for all your support over the last 5 years and for every order placed ❤️
