💖 It's time... 💖

Today was the final Deadbeat Doughnuts working day ⚡

The final doughnuts have been made, and probably eaten by now!!

It's been amazing, and I have too many people to thank, so i'm sure i'll miss loads, but here's a few thank yous...

- - you literally enabled this doughnut dream from the very beginning. Without your support and encouragment I would never have done this. You are bloody wonderful ❤️ More to the point, without your practical support of setting up the cafe and allowing me to sell from there I LITERALLY would never have realised anyone would buy one!!

- and - thank you for helping me close this thing by selling the doughnuts in your shops these past 2 weekends - this really helped me put a close to this all in my brain

- ALL THE 100S OF YOU THAT ORDERED IN THE PANDEMIC! - honestly, that first year without the cafe could have been so so unnerving, but my goodness you guys kept it coming with orders! It was an absolute pleasure to deliver to you all throughout that weird time.

It's been a learning journey! But I think now it is at it's natural conclusion.

I'll keep one fryer, juuuuust in case, but for now it's goodbye from Deadbeat Doughnuts, and thank you so so much 💜

🌹Love you all, here's a small essay:🌹

After this relatively long hiatus, I have decided to call it a day on Deadbeat Doughnuts 🍩

It's taken alot of dilly dallying to make this decision. After dislocating my shoulder a year ago I had to stop making doughnuts for a long time. And other parts of my life took over - enjoying my life with and our cat, making our podcast , working nights in my nursing job, getting back to the gym, and keeping busy with my band . And doughnuts never really made it back into my routine.

For me, it's a bittersweet decision, but not a sad one - my life is good! And I feel that trying to get back into the swing of baking everyday at 4am mught bring more stress than joy overall.

Additionally to this, the cost of living crisis makes it actually imposssible to offer my service at a reasonable price. I already don't charge enough, and I cannot fathom charging the correct amount at a time like we are facing right now.

BUT!!! I couldn't finish without offering a final goodbye round of doughnuts! But this time, for the first time since Sham City Roasters closed, you will be able to buy them individually! The most wonderful people at and will be selling Deadbeat Doughnuts on Saturday 17th December and Saturday 24th December 💕 I'll make a post with more details on that soon - massive thank you to both shops for helping me bring closure to the doughnut journey!! 💖

I also have tonnes of Deadbeat Doughnut tshirts and long sleeves - I will figure out what sizes I have and then will put these up for cheap, so if you fancy grabbing one then id appreciate that!!! Will be all via 'friends and family' Paypal payments whilst I close down websites and what not - will make a post about this soon!

Massive thanks for all the love and support over the years - its been a dream 💜

Update to service (13/06/2022)

Firstly, we would like to thank everyone for their continued support since we fully started operating in 2020 - we really could not have done it without you all!

Due to ongoing other commitments, we cannot bring Deadbeat Doughnuts to you as often as we were doing, nor as often as we would like.

This means we have put a halt on our regularly delivery days. We do not currently stock any local cafes or stores, but this might be something we look into in the future.

We will have VERY LIMITED diary spaces for orders of 12 or more doughnuts, but this is very dependent on other commitments - I (Siobhan) am a mental health nurse, who is currently taking on more shifts at the moment and so doughnuts has now had to be the part-time part of my life. If we can facilitate your order then we would love to do so, so please drop us an email at [email protected] with all inquiries and if we can do it then we will!

To reflect the service we can now offer, the menu and ordering requirements will be updated accordingly, so please have a look at these before making any inquiries.

Hi guys, it's been a loooong time since I have posted on here, so thought I'd do a little bit of an honest update:

As you all know, I dislocated my shoulder in November, which meant I had to suspend taking orders until I got better.

Alongside this, life has been pretty busy - I'm in a band that has been gigging alot at the weekends ( ♥️) and also band has also been gigging alot, meaning the weekends have been pretty hectic, leaving little space for doughnut making.

I have also been working at the hospital a little more in the meantime to ensure a more secure income, plus the hospital is SCREAMING out for staff at the moment (STOP VOTING TORY FOR F**K SAAAAAKE).

So what all of this means is that this doughnut dream has been put on the back burner. I'm sure that has been pretty obvious given the lack of updates and content on this page, but I thought I had better 'officially' say something.

I can't bring myself to close the business, but at this point it's not really a functioning 'business'. So for now, Deadbeat Doughnuts is on a hiatus in as far as weekly small boxes of doughnuts. I could be open to doing larger orders for one-off events/parties and such but only if our diaries match up - so you're more than welcome to message and see and I'll accommodate where possible 😊

I'm also currently lying in bed healing a trapped nerve in my neck, so deffo no order taking for sometime anyways 😂

In short - I'm still here! But on hiatus... Unless you need a large order and I happen to be free 😂😂😂 simples?!

I love you all, thanks so much for always being supportive of this doughnut dream, and hopefully things will get back on track one day ❤️🍩

2021, so that happened 🤣

After 2020, giving up our cafe () and learning to create a business from home, we wondered what 2021 might bring. And it turned out to be alot more of the same! 😂

Covid was/is here to stay for a bit, and so it was more home deliveries, custom orders and figuring it out from our little kitchen.

But we had our first food safety rating visit from the council, which we passed with flying colours! And the continued support from our customers has been AMAZING ❤️

2021 ended a bit unexpectedly, with myself dislocating my shoulder and getting covid all in the same week - whoops! But covid didn't leave any long lasting issues, thank goodness, and now waiting for my shoulder to heal up properly.

It's been weird not making doughnuts every week for you lovely lot, but it's given me some time to get thinking about what this business is and how best to continue it. I'm gonna keep things closed for a bit longer and come up with a plan for moving forward soon ❤️

We ourselves have been quiet on here recently, resting and recuperating after covid and a dislocated shoulder 💪

However, we did get to treat ourselves to this delicious vegan parsnip and mushroom nut roast, with veggies and provencale sauce!!! Absolutely amazing food, as always, from The Filo Brewing Company Ltd ❤️
