There’s a lot of love in every single thing on our shelf. Running a small family bakery means that everything we make carries a little piece of us. We're a small team who genuinely loves what we do and cares deeply about what comes out of that oven.

Did you know Avenue Bakery made its TV debut in the much-loved series Heartbeat? In Season 7, Episode 8 ‘The Friendly Fire’, our bakery staff became extras, and John Doyle even had a line! And yes, the legendary Greengrass was the original boy on a bike going down the hill... though for a different bread brand! 😄

If you look closely at that photo, you'll spot two faces still with us today: Rob Doyle, our owner, and Steven, who has now been part of the Avenue Bakery family for an incredible 32 years 🙌🏻

Rich, indulgent layers of moist chocolate sponge, finished with a generous coat of our homemade buttercream

It's been one of our most loved bakes since we first opened our doors and we couldn't take it off the menu even if we tried. Each chocolate cake is made fresh in our kitchen with a recipe that we've spent a long time getting just right.
