🌙✨ What is MoonBeam Bakes ✨🌙

A lot of people know me for my cakes, but MoonBeam is so much more than that.

My main job is creating celebration cakes, wedding cakes, and custom orders. That's what keeps the business going and helps fund everything else.

The café is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am–2pm, serving freshly baked cakes, traybakes, scones, hot and cold drinks, toasties, and sandwiches. Everything is kept simple, affordable, and made with love. Most mornings start at the crack of dawn in the kitchen! 🍰☕

We're not a restaurant, and we don't take table bookings. We're a small community café where people can pop in, grab a coffee, enjoy some cake, and feel welcome.

Many people don't know that I also struggle with my own mental health. That's actually one of the reasons MoonBeam was created. I wanted a safe, friendly space where people could come for a chat, make friends, feel included, and know they're welcome exactly as they are. 💜

I keep prices as low as I can because I know times are hard. Most of what I earn goes straight back into the shop to keep everything running and affordable for everyone.

And yes, very occasionally, if there are no cake orders (which is rare! 😂), I might take a little self-care day. Running a cake business, café, gift shop, and community space is a lot for one person and sometimes you need to recharge your own batteries too.

Emma and Corey have joined the team to take a little pressure from me. I'm forever grateful to everyone who has helped.

MoonBeam has never been about making a fortune. It's about community, kindness, coffee, cake, and creating a little bit of magic in Hamilton. 🌙🖤✨

🌙✨ A Little Note from Moonbeam Bakes ✨🌙

As Moonbeam Bakes continues to grow, I'd like to share a few important reminders to help everything run smoothly for both myself and my wonderful customers. Most of these are common sense, but unfortunately the need for this post has arisen after a few too many situations this year.

🎂 No deposit = no booking. Your date is not secured until your deposit has been paid. Messages, enquiries and "I'll get back to you" do not reserve a slot. Once my diary is full, it's full.

💰 Balances must be paid by the agreed date. Failure to do so may result in your order being cancelled and your slot being offered to another customer. If there is an issue, please communicate with me before the payment date.

📅 Please give as much notice as possible. While I will always try my best to help, I cannot guarantee availability for last-minute orders. Every cake takes time, planning and preparation.

⏰ Please arrive on time for collections. Collection times are arranged for a reason. Running late affects other customers, my family time and my work schedule. If you're delayed, a quick message is always appreciated.

📞 Communication is key. Life happens and plans change. If something comes up, please keep in touch. Most problems can be resolved easily when there is good communication.

🎨 Reference photos are for inspiration only. I will always do my best to create your vision, but I will not produce exact copies of another baker's work. Every Moonbeam cake is uniquely created.

🍰 Please inspect your cake at collection. Once a cake has been collected and accepted, responsibility for its transport, storage and handling passes to the customer. I cannot be held responsible for damage that occurs after collection.

💜 Refunds will only be considered in exceptional circumstances. Once a cake has been collected, consumed or partially consumed, refunds will not be given. All cakes are photographed before collection and leave Moonbeam Bakes in excellent condition.

🌡️ Storage instructions should be followed where provided. Cakes are delicate products and incorrect storage can affect their quality and appearance.

📸 Photos of your order may be used on my social media pages and for promotional purposes, unless you specifically request otherwise.

🎓 Supporting future bakers. Moonbeam Bakes is proud to offer opportunities to apprentices and young people gaining experience. Apprentices will not be involved in the creation, decorating or handling of customer cakes. Any involvement will be limited to complimentary extras that I choose to offer free of charge, such as biscuit favours, sample items or occasional bonus treats included with some orders. All cakes and paid-for items are created by me personally.

📦 If you've borrowed a cake stand, please return it. Many are still out on adventures and replacing them is expensive.

💜 Most importantly, respect goes a long way. Moonbeam Bakes is a small business run by a real person who works incredibly hard behind the scenes. Kindness, patience and mutual respect cost nothing and are always appreciated. Rudeness, abuse or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated, and I reserve the right to refuse service where necessary.
