Hi loves,

After my last post and everyone’s messages I realised I need to update you a little more. Not that I don’t want to but I’m very aware this is a business page and you all came for the cakes haha.

As many of you know, I’ve been on quite a ‘journey’ with my health (diagnosed with stage 3 bowel c-ancer in Feb 25 and then stage 4 secondary bowel c-ancer in March 26) and later this week I’ll be going in for my third surgery, the first of my lung surgeries.

The plan is to remove the tumour in my right lung and thankfully they’re hoping to do it keyhole, which means a shorter hospital stay and recovery time 🙏🏻🤞🏻 Then they’ll do the same with my left lung after I’ve recovered from this op.

Obviously these past 21 months have been a lot, but I’m staying positive (mostly lol) and taking things one step at a time. I know so many of you have followed my journey and sent so many prayers, love and support, and I’m so incredibly grateful.

I’ll keep you updated when I can, but for now, I’m focusing on getting through this next step, being with my beautiful family and getting back on my feet. Special shout out to my husband Peter J Chapple - Artist He’s an amazing artist, You should check his page out 🧡

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to my beautiful friend Emma (Hebask Yorkshire )who hosted a Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning today.

She has raised over £1,000!! I know first hand that money will help so much.

Thank you to Dean Clough for hosting, Holdsworth Bakery (whose bakes were incredible btw) and everyone who made cakes.

Thank you to everyone who donated raffle prizes and everyone who bought raffle tickets.

Emma you are literally walking sunshine and I’m so thankful for your friendship ☀️🧡

I just wanted to let you know that I had surgery a couple of weeks ago and I’m now at home recovering. FYI This photo is absolutely NOT recent 😆

Well, before my slightly dramatic announcement 😅

A huge thank you to my incredibly talented friend Jules over at for designing and building our brand new website 💻✨

Jules put so much time, care, and creativity into it, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out.

I’m gutted that it coincided with my health update and our closure but If you’re looking for someone to bring your ideas to life online, I couldn’t recommend her more!

I don’t think I’ll ever find the right words for today!

It was so lovely to see everyone and I am so grateful for the love, the flowers, the well wishes, the help and more love. Another huge Thank you to Sam, Jamie & Sarah from Your help has been invaluable to us this week. So grateful for our staff too who have worked incredibly hard this past week. I love you all so much 💕

Also I can’t let this opportunity pass without a massive thank you to Pam. Me and Pam set up the bake house together in 2020 and I honestly couldn’t have done it without her. Pam retired from being a director of the company late last year so she could concentrate on our baking and being the best Grannie in the world but she has always been a massive part of the Bake House and I wanted to acknowledge that. Love you forever Pammy.

A last thank you to my friends and family who helped with the big clean tonight!

Now for a brew and a big relax this weekend before I have surgery on Tuesday. Big love, Lucy xx
