Leading Lady Cakes is closing....

In July this year, I was diagnosed with incurable cancer. The prognosis is years, so I'm fully intending being around for a good while yet... but it does mean that I can't take on any bookings that are up to two years in advance. Even a few months in advance is a risk, as the treatment I am having can lay me low at any point.
So, the wedding cakes are stopping... but my training business is getting an overhaul and all my energies will now be going into that. I love training home bakers, and guiding them in setting up their own businesses, and helping them to grow. All info about that can be found at anniebennett.co.uk

I shall also be raising awareness and funds for cancer related issues.
I've already started a blog, The Annie Bennett Chronicles, anniebennett.co.uk/chronicles,and a podcast is planned, as well as the setting up of a charity. Please do use the above link to find my social media accounts and email list, so you can stay up to date with all that's happening.

I haven't always been a wedding cake baker.
In fact, I had a 30 year career as a primary teacher, and set up leading Lady Cakes around 10 years ago.

Why ‘Leading Lady Cakes’? Well, I’m a trained operatic soprano, and have sung a few lead roles, including Carmen and Tosca.

I have a sense of the dramatic, I love being on stage, and I love being creative, which is why being a wedding cake maker suits me down to the ground.

I love what I do, I love creating beautiful cakes, and I love being part of a couple’s day.
