Hello folks
I know I've been quiet; it's been a busy, mad and exciting weekend.
I'll respond to all messages tomorrow ###

what can I say? The best team, the best neighbours with the wonderful Norwich Droids and the best time (apologies again to the wookiee I got a bit handsy with)
Tried to get AI to create some collages, I'm not sure what its done to our faces in some of these clips!
Lovely providing the guests with cakes too!

Well… the first ever Unpredictaquiz is DONE! 🎉

And I think we can safely call it a success!

A massive thank you to all 8 teams who came along tonight, threw themselves into six completely random rounds and helped make our first night such a brilliant one.

It was ridiculously close too… there were only 10 points between 1st and last place! So nobody was running away with it, and nobody was getting absolutely annihilated either 😂

A huge thank you to The King’s Arms for letting us take over the space and giving The Unpredictaquiz a home.

I’ve had some genuinely lovely feedback tonight, as well as some really useful constructive criticism, all of which I’ll be taking on board as we tweak, improve and figure out exactly what works best.

Most importantly, I hope everyone had fun. That was always the point: a quiz that’s competitive without being too serious, where you never quite know what’s coming next.

Thank you for supporting Ink & Icing by coming along too. Every team that takes part is helping us raise funds to create some very special cakes for people and causes who deserve something worth celebrating.

Hopefully we’ll see lots of you back next Wednesday, and maybe a few new faces too!

Same place. Same time. Completely different rounds. 👀

The Unpredictaquiz Wednesday • 7:30pm • The King’s Arms, Caister
£10 per team • Up to 6 people

See you next week!

THE UNPREDICTAQUIZ IS COMING THIS WEEK!

Will it be competitive? YES.
Will it be serious? Absolutely not.
Will it be an absolute blast? YES.

Forget your usual pub quiz rounds. No specialist subjects. No need to know every capital city, football stat or obscure king.

Just 6 completely random rounds, a bit of general knowledge, a bit of lateral thinking and absolutely no idea what’s coming next.

📍 The King’s Arms, Caister

I mean..... Wow!
What a start
Thank you all xx

And with that, the Ink & Icing launch is DONE!

It felt a little quieter than we’d hoped at times, but bloody hell, those of you who showed up REALLY showed up.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to every single person who came along today. Whether you bought raffle tickets, had a go on the tombola or games, bought cakes or trinkets, made a donation, stopped for a chat or simply came along to support what we’re trying to do, thank you.

Another enormous thank you to all the wonderful local businesses and individuals who donated prizes. We genuinely couldn’t have put today together without your generosity.

And then there are the absolute legends who came along “for a bit” and somehow ended up staying, being given jobs and basically helping run the entire bloody thing. 😂 You know who you are. Today wouldn’t have been half as successful without you.

Because somehow...
WE RAISED £857.50!

I’m genuinely very overwhelmed writing that.

When Ink & Icing started as a slightly bonkers idea to raise money so we can create incredible cakes for deserving people, charities and good causes, I had no idea how today would go.

£857.50 is one hell of a jumping-off point.

That’s money sitting in the Ink & Icing pot ready to turn butter, sugar, fondant and a frankly unreasonable amount of flour into some very special memories.

And this is only the beginning.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.

And they’re off!
An 80th birthday cake for a lifelong horse racing fan, complete with two jockeys battling it out for the finish line.
Both horses and riders were completely handmade from sugar, right down to the racing silks, saddles and tiny reins.

Inspired by the gorgeous dome cakes at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney World, this Minnie Mouse 50th birthday cake was an absolute joy to create.
It’s giving all the Minnie Mouse sass, but without feeling too childish. Classic red, white and black, an enormous spotty bow and those unmistakable ears.
And look closely at the ears… 👀
Both feature images of the 50th birthday celebrations at the park, Because if you’re celebrating 50, it absolutely deserves a bit of Disney magic.

Experimenting today.
Caramel pecan, lemon and classic cinnamon rolls.

Shame I don't like cinnamon really!
