The reality of running a fresh food business is that we are hugely impacted by the forces that be around us, and despite us putting our everything into what we make, sometimes things don't go to plan and we end up with a quiet day or a quiet week.
It can be the case that this just happens sometimes. But it doesn't help when its caused by other issues like access!
Thanks to Affinity Water and another problem with the water supply in our village, plus other issues getting out of Hitchin and work on alternative routes, access was yet again restricted to us, and resulted in an absolutely rubbish week for sales last week 🙄
This on top of the unpredictable nature of retail as it is really hits us.
Of course, we don't know we are heading for a quiet week when we start the week, spending lots of time and money on buying in ingredients and making.
And of course with the battles with the first 4 months of the year and Affinity Water closing access it's shaping out to be a hard year!
So we'd be hugely grateful for a busy week or few weeks to try to recoup from our week of losses and so we ask for your help. Of course, you shopping with us or telling your friends and family about us is amazing. But also, every like, comment or share from you really helps by pushing out our posts to a bigger audience, and it massively helps. Although we have loads of followers, our posts do not get seen by the majority of them.
Also a huge shout out to those customers who did try to get to us at the weekend and especially those that persevered! 🫶
You'll be pleased to know access is back to normal through the village and we've got an exciting new menu for you this week 🙌
A few spoilers we have giant snickers macarons planned, we've got banoffee cheesecake and our Autumn special sticking around of gingerbread, caramel and pumpkin sprayed mousse which we've heard has been a favourite! 🍂
