Our friends at Walking Our Stories has just launched a series of free, community led walking tours exploring migration, identity, belonging and the many cultures that have shaped Glasgow. Funded by the Glasgow 2026 Festival Fund, this pilot project has brought together a team of Community Storytellers with lived experience of migration and diverse cultural backgrounds to develop and lead 2 unique walking tours.

“As the daughter of immigrants who was born and brought up in the West End, I've always been fascinated in the stories, cultures and people that make this city what it is. I hope my tour helps people see Glasgow from a different perspective".

Each tour lasts approximately 75 - 90 minutes, is free to attend, and is limited to just 15 participants to create a more engaging experience.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped out or just popped along to the Bigger Partick Picnic on Saturday 27 June.

It was a brilliant day despite the intermittent rain. The Bigger Partick Picnic is about bringing a community together and we received such great feedback from locals! Visitors enjoyed a fantastic programme of live entertainment, including music from local artists, a steel band, choir, DJs and more. Alongside the main stage, community stalls and local organisations were also on hand throughout the day, offering opportunities to get creative, learn more about services in the area and connect with others. We even had a visit from Finnie the Unicorn, proud mascot of the upcoming Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.

A key feature of this year’s event was a new employability programme, delivered through a partnership between PHA and EveryStage. The programme provided local young people with event management training and the opportunity to interview for a paid placement at the Bigger Partick Picnic and beyond, helping them gain valuable skills and experience within the events industry.

Special thanks to Every Stage, Partick Community Council Glasgow City Council Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026

Here's to doing it all again next year... with guaranteed sunshine this time!

A mobile phone was posted through our reception post box last night. The screen is cracked and we can’t get it to work but it has rang and received texts, we just can’t activate the screen to answer. If you lost a phone near Mansfield street in Partick recently, pop in and let us know the make and model and we can see if it is your phone. Thanks. PHA.
