Holmlea Gardens Allotments

Holmlea Gardens Allotments Holmlea Gardens is an allotment site in Cathcart, on the South Side of Glasgow. For more information see Allotments at Glasgow City Council website.

You can find the allotments between the row of tenements on Holmlea Road and the railway line, with entrances behind the flats on Greenholme Street and via Holmlea Court. Holmlea Gardens Association is an independent allotment association run by members. There is usually a waiting list for new members, but the list does go down as people move away or change plots, so please do get in touch if you

are interested. You can get your name on our waiting list by sending us a message via Facebook or by contacting the Allotments Officer at Glasgow City Council 0141 287 5729. The current cost of holding an allotment is £32/year, and each plot-holder must do at least four hours of work on the communal areas of the gardens each year. We hold work parties, which can be fun and sociable sessions, or the chores can be done in your own time. We hold an annual open day in August with stalls of fruit and veg, jams, chutneys, home baking and bric-a-brac for sale. We also have tombola, raffles and of course teas, coffees and barbecue food. All are welcome and there is a donation at the gate. There's great transport on the 6 and 4 buses, or you can take the train to Mount Florida or Cathcart stations. We hope to see you there!
