Happy Halloween!! 👻

Our first event is finally here 🎉 Explore Glasgow's world-famous murals with us this Sunday!! We'll be visiting 13 murals in total, including the iconic St Mungo on High Street, and learn a bit about their history and the artists behind them. Make sure to take lots of pictures! Fitting for the season, we'll also be sprinkling in some 👻 Ghost Signs👻,fading but still preserved signs and ads from Glasgow's past. After the trail, we'll be heading for some hot cocoa in St Enoch Square! ☕️

Hi everyone 😊
Our next event will be taking place this Saturday 26th November at 11am and we’ll be visiting the Tenement House!
Between 1911-1965, this four room flat was the home of shorthand typist Agnes Toward, and it remains almost unchanged to this day 🤩 Join us as we explore the museum and learn more about life in 20th century Glasgow (in addition to finding out more about the design and history of the beautiful rows of tenements that still remain an integral part of Glasgow’s landscape cityscape)
For anyone wanting to meet earlier, we’ll catch you at 10:30am at the Willow Grove Coffee on Sauchiehall, otherwise feel free to meet us at the entrance to the museum ✨ Entrance fee is £6 for students or £1 for Young Scot Card holders
Hope to see yous there!

✨Welcome to the GU Tenement Society!✨

We are a newly-founded club, aiming to give students the opportunity to explore Glasgow and learn about the city's built and cultural heritage. Whether you're interested in Glaswegian history or just looking for someone to stroll around the city with (and maybe learn a new fact or two), the Tenement Society is the place for you! 😉

We plan to host a number of exciting walks, visit museums and historic buildings, as well as organise weekly socials and events such as debates, lectures, or even a ceilidh. For anyone interested in more details, find us on Instagram, Twitter, and Linktree, or visit our Welcome Fair stall on the 13th of September (Tuesday) from 10am-5pm at the University Chapel! ❤️

We look forward to meeting you and wish you the best of luck this academic year!
