Ladies Who Bake Scotland

Ladies Who Bake Scotland WIP Ladies Who Bake is a club of volunteer bakers who have been baking together for more than five years.

We have just moved to new premises, within a professional kitchen to bake, so the team will be once again be delighting their customers with outstanding cakes and treats. Using only the highest quality ingredients, the team bake in addition to their unique and sensational cakes and treats a selection of Vegan, Gluten, Dairy and Egg Free options. The team bake on a non-for-profit basis to support l

ocal charities and will now be donating all the profits made from the sale of their bakes to Baljaffray Parish Church. This is not only a friendly and welcoming place of worship for all age groups, but is also used by many community groups and projects to carry out their activities, so we are confident the money raised will be put to good use. Every Thursday the team will be getting together at their new premises to create more delectable bakes and treats.

The summer months of July and August were so busy for Ladies who Bake that we didn’t even get the time to do our monthly Facebook post but we hope we’re going to make it up to you now with a bumper crop of photos.
To celebrate summer we incorporated a wonderful selection of fresh fruits into our cakes and bakes, from A for apple, B for all sorts of berries to K + P for Kiwi and Passion Fruit. All these and many more combinations went into producing our individually crafted bakes. The response and feedback from our customers has been encouraging and inspiring.
Over the Autumn months we will continue to turn out unusual, exciting cakes and bakes, using only the best quality ingredients we can source, so if you intrigued by our concept, do pop into our local stockist Finsbay, Milngavie for coffee and a taste of our tantalising treats.

1st to 7th June, is Scottish Volunteer Week and this year’s theme is ‘Celebrate and Inspire’. The Ladies who Bake team of volunteers strive to live up to that every week. We ‘Celebrate’ the generosity of the Baljaffray Parish Church, for allowing us to use their kitchen every Thursday. We celebrate each others talent and dedication to raising funds for a deserving cause and at the same time spending hours creating, sharing and enjoying the production of awesome cakes and bakes. And most of all we Celebrate our customers who order our bakes each week. We ‘Inspire’ each other to whip up bakes that are a combination of old fashioned quality with a modern twist.

We’d like to share with you a few photos of the cakes and bakes made by this team of awesome Volunteers in June.

Last Thursday, Ladies who Bake produced for their customers colourful, dramatically decorated and most definitely lush and indulgent cakes and bakes. The list was long but we choose a few photos to highlight some of the creations that would impress even Royalty.
First on the list was PADDINGTON BEAR CORONATION CAKE. A cake made with Marmalade and White Chocolate.
Also a citrusy LEMON DRIZZLE, this cake will tease your taste buds.
A RED VELVET CAKE. Just like the fabric, this cake is an expression of elegance.
CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES. Little mouthfuls of dark utterly divine chocolate sponge topped with creamy chocolate icing, sprinkles in the colours of the UK with a flag to finish.
CORONATION CHOCOLATE BARK. A mixture of white and milk chocolate triangles, taste the wealth in each bite.
BLUEBERRY AND LEMON CAKE. Bursting with seasonal flavours.
