An appreciation post for all of you lovely lot who came to see us at Saltwell Park yesterday,those who ordered online and as always the biggest thank you to dad and Fi for all of your help! I was really worried when I saw the forecast. The rain definitely put a few off but it was still a decent turnout. That being said we just about got sold out. I’ve got a small amount of cookies left!
I’ve noticed that the made without gluten items are the most popular! I’ve made vegan items and they’ve been a bad seller each time so it might not be worth doing anything vegan next time but I’m always open to feedback and suggestions. I did have a couple of comments on social media regarding the Mars brownies and how they could be misleading as on the list they were included in the free from section. I am always transparent about the ingredients in items and explained that they contained gluten as Mars Bars have barley in them, however, they were made with free from flour. My intention was to be upfront with people about the flour used in them as your average person might not have wanted to buy them knowing they were made with free from flour, in the same way they might not want to purchase something vegan. It was not to intentionally make anyone with an allergy or intolerance think that they were ok for them to purchase. There was a clear sign next to them that stated they contained barley. I have an allergen matrix available, full ingredients lists as well as a bright orange notice with allergen and cross contamination information listed. I appreciate that it could have been interpreted wrong on the bakes list,however, anyone who visited the stall could see what was ok for them to buy. I hate the thought of upsetting anyone who has an allergy or intolerance as I know how difficult it can be to buy things when you’re out and about. I hope that clears things up.
