What a busy weekend 😴 thank you so much to everyone who popped in and seen us over the weekend, it was great to see such a big turnout for the first Borders Pride and I'm sure the cake, coffee, rolls & questionable banter kept everyone fuelled for the day!

After an incredibly busy few weeks Salt & Pepper have demanded we have a day at home with them consisting of blankets, snacks, and extra cuddles.

Just a reminder we're closed Today & tomorrow, we reopen at 9am on Wednesday ❤️

Thanks you again folks, we couldn't do this without each and every one of you.

With the first ever Borders Pride happening this weekend, we wanted to wish everyone involved an absolutely brilliant day for Saturday!

You might notice that we haven’t launched a special Pride menu, covered the shop in rainbows or turned everything we bake multicoloured for the weekend.

That’s quite deliberate.

Bulldog Bakes is owned and run by a gay married couple. For us, being an inclusive business isn’t something we switch on for Pride weekend, or something we need to build a marketing campaign around once a year. It’s simply who we are, every day.

We’ve always wanted Bulldog Bakes to be somewhere EVERYONE feels welcome, and that won’t change when Pride weekend is over.

It’s great to see something new happening here in the Borders, and we hope the first Borders Pride is a huge success.

Have a brilliant weekend when it comes folks! 🏳️‍🌈

It's Friday, summer is over and it's full steam ahead to cosy season 🎃 👻 🎄

Fudge muffins are not long out the oven and on the counter, scones today are spiced treacle, and we've got a fudge cheesecake in the fridge. Plenty hot & cold drinks too to keep you going.

Oh, and there's a Victoria sponge being whipped up for tomorrow 😏

Well, tonight was a bit special 🌘✨

After work Aaron and I grabbed a chippy with some pals and headed up to Lauder Common to watch the eclipse. Not a bad way to spend an evening at all. 🍟🌙

We managed to get a few photos and videos while we were up there, although I’m not sure any camera quite does it justice. The change in temperature was so surreal to experience and then as it started brightening up again 👌

Did anyone else head out to watch it? We’d love to see what you managed to capture!
