Dear valued customers of Crumbs.
We are aware of rumours spreading of our closure, and would like to address those.
After several months of difficult conversations and careful consideration, we have come to a decision that we will have to close Crumbs.
This is not a decision we have taken lightly , it is very hard for us all. We have put a lot of work into growing our little business, and we are truly saddened to be in this situation. Crumbs has been a part of Gairloch for over 10 years and we have had some really good years over that time. We were excited to take things forward this year, with new ideas. However, a barrage of curve balls in the last 18 months have made the business no longer viable moving forward.
We have seen a huge drop in customer numbers this year, there are less visitors around, and less locals calling in too. We have seen a big change since the arrival of the Co-Op, it has hit us harder than we expected. As well as this our building is due to be sold anytime, our costs are going up by the month, and with those amongst other things, as a small business we just can’t make it work anymore.
We would have loved to avoid this situation , if there were any way we could have, we would but it just isn’t to be.
We will remain open and trading as normal until Mid October, potentially the end of October, but we will be running stocks down by then. Anyone with cake or catering orders up to the end of October your orders will be completed as normal so please don’t worry.
Lastly. A big thank you for your support over the past 10 years , we hope you have enjoyed having us around as much as we have enjoyed feeding you all! We are truly sorry we cannot continue to supply our produce to you.
