Where have you come from? What have you seen?
The English thing to do when there’s a problem, a shock, something to celebrate is to have a nice cup of tea. Today I bought a teacup, saucer and tea plate. The reason I bought it was to add to a collection I bought about 3 hears aho. I bought the original to remember my Uncle David, who'd recently passed. I must say made a great cup of tea!!
One of my followers commented on the post, that she loved a teacup with a story. I‘ve often thought wondered, when I choose and buy a new teacup and saucer, tea set, what have you been through, what personal events have you supplied the holder tea to and what historical events have you seen and survived??? Did you host tea in the 1920’s/30’s through the gorgeous Art Deco era, all those gorgeous dresses; where did you live during the war years and how did you survive, did you comfort somebody when they received bad news, or news to cheer about and what did you think when the 1950’s and 60’s came along and all that modern stuff.
And then you got packed away, put in the loft, no longer wanted, considered old fashioned you were then sold on and your fate unknown. NOW, finally you are back in your finery, in your glory, back on centre stage being invited to, attending and supplying tea, creating memories for today, for a future generation of people, now that you’re in the love and care of The Vintage Tea Service.
