End of an Era, After over 15 years tomorrow (1st November) will be our last delivery to Orchard Bros Freshwater Bay. A huge hank you to Mark for his support over the years, from Monday 3rd November Orchards will be using a different supplier, but have no fear, our breads and rolls etc are still available from the shop.

Evening everyone, I thought I'd make the effort and offer an update to some one the may questions I keep being asked. As probably all know by now the shop sold, mixed feelings to be honest, but honestly.. I'm happy. When do we close? As soon as I know.. You'll know. Whats next for Dave the Baker? No idea, some time off, work on my camper, do some work on the house and relax!! one things for sure... I wont be getting up at 2am anymore!!! Will you still be baking.. thats easy .. NOPE!! Will you ever be baking again... NOPE, ive been a baker for 38 years... I'm done!! (watch this, I'll need a job and will end up being a baker again lol). I may be a bit of a .. well you know, fill in the blank, but genuinely, ive met some amazing people of the last 20 years in the Village, some sadly no longer with us, I've also met some real idiots.. my favorite ones are the ones that question me about the bread.. "is that wholemeal.. yes" "are you sure" really.. im pretty sure that after 38 years I know what Wholemeal bread is, I'll post more news as I have it.. in the mean time keep coming in, keep shoping Local, support the amazing shops you have here in the Village... take care everyone.. Rant over!!

Evening everyone, so as many of you may have now seen I've put the bakery up for sale via auction, First off, lets stop the rumor mill shall we, the Bakery is profitable and my decision is not based around a failing businness or a lack of customers, Ive made a living in the village for over 20 years, the reasons for my decison to put it up for auction are personal, if it sells, it sells if it doesnt I carry on, im not in any particular rush either way. I trully hope that if it sells the new owners will carry on as a Bakery, because yes its a shop but its also a part of the community, a community I not only work in but live in aswell. So onwards and upwards as they say, until the 18th none of us have anyidea what happens next... not even me. So until then take care and see you in the Bakery for a chat as usual. So until then take care, thaks for your support over the years and mayb even into the future, it all depends how it goes...
