JOB OPPORTUNITY!
We're looking for Helpers who are KIND, PATIENT, HARD WORKING and RELIABLE to join our existing team here at South Coast Home Assistance Ltd.

The role will be a mixture of cleaning, shopping, general errands, welfare checks and companionship.
various days and hours available, idealy with flexibility to cover annual leave. Hours are negotiable but ideally we require:

SOMEONE TO WORK TWO OR THREE REGULAR DAYS A WEEK WITH THE FLEXIBILITY TO COVER EXTRA DAYS AD HOC! APPROXIMATELY 12-16 HOURS

-Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 and 3 or 4
-No evenings or weekends
-Full training provided
-PAYE pay
-competitive rates of pay
-Uniform provided
-Mileage paid
-Car drivers only

The successful candidate would require two references and an enhanced DBS.

We had a lovely couple of hours this morning visiting some of the very talented local artists at Hampshire open Studios

Marian is an artist herself and recently sold some of her artwork at Merceode Lodge Care Home summer fete, helping to raise money for charity.

Two of our clients met up at Merceode Lodge Care Home today. What a beautiful place. The staff were so warm and welcoming!
Marian enjoyed reading Frances some poetry while they had a hot drink!

Sometimes independence is only one small change away.

A label on a cupboard.

A picture on a bathroom door.

A favourite mug always in the same place.

These little changes reduce frustration and help people stay independent for longer.

At our Waterside Hub, picture labels help Jenny confidently put everything away after lunch.

She knows where it goes.

She feels useful.

She feels proud.

Sometimes that's everything.

So many people care quietly! 💙

July is Good Care Month, a time to celebrate the incredible people who care for others every single day.

When we think about care, it's easy to picture doctors, nurses, care workers and support staff. They all do an incredible job, and we're so grateful for everything they do.

But we'd also like to recognise another group of people...

💙 The husbands, wives, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends and neighbours who quietly provide care every day.

Many of our carers don't clock off at the end of a shift.

They are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

They help with meals, medication, appointments, finances, personal care, reassurance, sleepless nights and everything in between.

They often put their own health, careers, hobbies and social lives on hold to care for someone they love.

Without unpaid carers, our health and social care system simply couldn't cope.

To every family carer reading this...

We see you.

We know how hard it can be.

We know the emotional, physical and practical challenges that come with caring for someone living with dementia.

And we want you to know that you don't have to do it alone.

At The Dementia Care Hub, we're here for people living with dementia and the people who care for them. Whether it's through our Weekly Socials, Wellbeing Activity Days, Carers Support Groups or Welfare Calls, we're here to help make the journey a little less lonely.

To our incredible volunteers, staff, health and social care professionals, and every unpaid carer supporting someone they love...

I would like to thank my incredible team for their efforts today working in 38C heat!

You were all amazing!! Special thanks to Liv Chadwick who had a clean heavy day and worked a really long day and Mandy Hislop , who won’t mind me saying, is our most mature member of staff 😉 and sooo close to retirement! 😂

But to all of you- thanks for pushing through and ensuring your clients are kept cool, hydrated and happy!

It’s been lovely being ‘back on the tools’ meeting new clients and catching up with existing ones these past few weeks.
