Not my usual style (don't do babies!) but I quite like the mix of patterns with the same colour palette.

Carly & Matthew's multicoloured dreamy pastel wedding cake, complete with mini-me's! A new style of wedding cake for me - a rough buttercream finish rather than smooth rolled icing.

I loved making these toppers and adding every tiny detail, including Carly's beautiful (and handmade by her) bouquet. Carly's always been the queen of crafting, and her wedding was no exception!

Over a year since my last post - shocking behaviour!

It's been rather quiet on the cake front, as "proper" employment has rather taken over. But, there has been a few fun projects over the past year - so I'd love to share them with you.

And finally....some news regarding the future of CakeDiddly.
I have been promoted at my 'proper' job (woohoo) but sadly it means that after the end of February next year I will be unable to take orders for wedding cakes. This was a heartbreaking decision to make, as I adore making them, but I feel that I might not be able to dedicate as much time as I would want to any large cakes over the summer. Any winter weddings - please ask!

I will still be making birthday, anniversary, Christening (and any other excuse!) cakes - and I will also be offering toppers for wedding cakes - such as figures and flowers.

I just want to say thank you to all the brides and grooms who have asked me to make their cakes over the past few years, and hopefully I will be able to start making them again.

This anniversary cake was a special one too - I had the pleasure of making their wedding cake last year, so was overjoye...

This anniversary cake was a special one too - I had the pleasure of making their wedding cake last year, so was overjoyed when the hubby asked me to make another cake! Essentially a miniature version of the wedding cake - complete with matching roses and lilies.

Believe it or not, these are both purple - apparently it's fairly impossible to buy a decent edible purple paint so mixing one up works better!

Looking forward to seeing this cake when it's all finished :D

Three flavours (the ever-popular Lemon Drizzle, Victoria sponge and Tropical fruit) with a military theme. Brendan is a paratrooper in the RAF, so we designed the topper to feature his parachute (and a nod to our friendship - having made him a Duffman costume when we were 18!) This was a very special cake to make, and I was honoured to be part of their day.
