🥇 O N E 🥇
Benji turned one! And when your mum bakes cakes you get 2 cakes!
It’s been a tricky year cake wise with 2 small children. I’m trying to fit in what I can but from September I have a new job which is twice as many days so I won’t be able to do much baking next academic year 😞 hopefully I’ll settle into a new routine and have some capacity but for now I won’t be taking any cake orders beyond September while I adjust to the new role

But 2 kids is hard work and so I’ve not been baking as much as I’d like to…

🏈 N F L 🏈
I’m having a love hate relationship with celebration cakes at the moment. On the one hand I’m really pleased with how this turned out. On the other hand this time last night I was asking how much the birthday boy likes potatoes as I was convinced it was going to be a disaster and looked more spud like than spectacular 🥔 😂

With 2 small children celebration cakes are getting harder to do, I have to arrange childcare so need lots of notice, and it’s involving lots of late nights and weekends when I’m already exhausted. So please be aware I have VERY LIMITED capacity for cakes going forwards. Traybakes and simple cakes are fine as they’re a lot less labour intensive so I will be focussing more on these for the foreseeable future
A note to those who I’ve told “I don’t do fondant cakes” this is still true. This was a gift cake for a friend - something I see as practise with the hopes of improving and one day being able to offer them. Right now I just don’t feel I’m there yet

This weekend featured an extra special cake which I was asked to make for one of my old tutor group who has just turned 18 😱
It was so special to be asked to make this and a real privilege to have this wonderful young lady in my tutor for 5 years. Hope you had a brilliant birthday!

Yesterday I got to decorate this beautiful cake which the bride baked herself! She’s a brilliant baker and loved the idea of making her wedding cake but didn’t have time to decorate it, so I iced and assembled it.
Gorgeous flowers added by and stunning location of all came together to make a beautiful day. Congratulations Emma and Dan!

Such a joy to make this cake for some wonderful friends on Saturday. We had the best day celebrating with you!
This cake was made up of carrot cake with cream cheese icing, lemon cake with a lemon and marscapone filling, and vanilla cake with white chocolate Swiss merengue buttercream 🤤
