Living a life of all things cake and using my passion to help you celebrate YOUR special day, be it wedding or celebration, with cake and sugar art. Cupcakes, large cakes, tiered cakes, celebration biscuits or sweet treats whichever or all if you prefer. I design, make and decorate cakes in my studio, all of them unique to my clients. s a food business with a totally different area; Wychavon Environmental Health, so now just waiting for their rating which may be a long time coming thanks to the Covid pandemic! In the meantime, I'm fully covered by the relevant insurance for product and public liability. As some of you like to make your own cakes have a look at my fondant models to use as decoration, which you can purchase separately. At the time of writing this description, we are just coming out of a pandemic so social distancing is still important to some people. To make cakes more accessible, I offer a contactless delivery or collection service as well as payment. Wedding consultations can be conducted via Zoom or Skype or Messenger video and taster boxes can be put in the post to you. "I don't need to SHOUT, because I know I'm gorgeous"

Not me speaking but this beautiful wedding cake.

No loud colours, no complicated design, no upstaging of the bride even! Just a gentle, understated, stunning design in muted tones of sage green and white. Highlighted with delicate stencilling and ethereal florals (made from an edible medium, naturally), this style of wedding cake brings a sense of peace to a super busy day.

The venue is dressed, and the cake table is ready.....πŸ’’

There's nothing quite like watching a blank space transform into a dream wedding. Come with me as I put the finishing touches to this soft yet formal wedding cake for A & R. Drapes of "fabric" fondant, subtly sparkling "crushed glass" (all edible of course!), then highlighted with my sugar flowers. This was the design brief from my clients and the result: two tiers of a stunning cake totally unique to them!

Every detail at the venue, from the linens, the place settings, the flowers, to the cake is considered so as to reflect the story of the day. I was so honoured to be part of it. ✨ These talented suppliers are listed below, so do take a look.

Thank you A & R for this lovely commission. ❀️

Behind every wedding cake, there's a special love storyπŸ’•

And your cake reflects your particular story. Scrolling through SM content is great for ideas and inspiration, but there's nothing like seeing the real thing and tasting real cake.

I'm exhibiting at these four fabulous fayres during September and October, so if this is your area, then do come and say hello. I'm taking 7 display cakes, each showcasing a different technique PLUS there will be 7 flavours of cake for you to try.

Admission is FREE to each of them. You can just walk up, but I'd encourage you to get your free ticket.... just tap on "linktree" in my bio to open up the venue menu! πŸ˜‰

There will be lots of other wedding service/product suppliers there too, all on hand to guide you and help you navigate your wedding planning.

Save this post as a reminder and/or send to a friend who's planning their wedding.

See you soon

You've chosen "the one" to share your life with, but can you choose "which one" to have for your cake flavour?

The good news: you don't have to choose JUST one!

That's the beauty of a tiered cake. From two tiers upwards, you can have a variety of flavours. The carousel details my most popular client choices, especially the Decadent Chocolate and the Fresh Raspberry and White Chocolate.

Now it's all very well showing you the flavours, but what do they taste like? Here's 3 ways how you can find out:

🍰 I'm exhibiting at several wedding fayres (see belowπŸ‘‡) during September and October, so pop along and have a little taste.
🍰 Book a wedding consultation with me. You and your partner have 2 hours of my undivided attention; a glass of fizz (or tea/coffee if you prefer), tasting cake, a private viewing of all my display cakes showcasing different techniques, advice and guidance on your cake design, PLUS larger slices of cake for you to enjoy at home!

All that for Β£45, which comes off the cost of your wedding cake IF you commission me to make it. I do have limited availability though, so either leave me a comment, or message me directly.

🍰 Not want to commit to that yet? Purchase a "taster box" from me. A square of each flavour sufficient for 2 people. mmmm.....mmmmm. Cost £30 collection from Evesham. Worcestershire

Theres a ton of information in this post, so why not save and share with a friend who's getting married! Hope helpful.

Reposting this as it makes sense to me. No doubt there are other ways to help small businesses grow, so well see what happens. Shout out to them all. 🌟

Dear Prime Minister Burnham,

Congratulations!

Now here's what you can do to help Small Businesses, the biggest employer in the UK and the most neglected and overlooked by all political parties.

3 things that would stimulate growth in SMEs, therefore creating jobs and boosting the economy:

1) Reform Corporation Tax.

It's currently a very blunt instrument. 19% for profits under Β£250k, 25% for profits above that. Why not introduce a tax free allowance for profits of up to say Β£10k, just like income tax? This would really allow some breathing space for the smallest companies and start ups. This could be funded by actually taxing companies like Starbucks, but it would probably pay for itself with those profits going back into growth, jobs and spending.

2) Reform Commercial Lease Legislation.

Not many people know that commercial landlords can basically let their properties fester, while domestic landlords are bound by (rightly) strict laws that enforce quality of living standards for tenants. Our landlord can legally get away with our Grade II listed building leaking, rotting, and being unsafe while we foot the bill to make it usable. To boot, lots of the public money in Towns Funds across the country has been used to improve privately owned properties, meaning these taxes have effectively gone back into the pockets of private landlords, boosting the value of their properties at the expense of the taxpayer.

Commercial landlords should be held to better standards. We've sunk around Β£25k into just making our building safe. We won't see any of that again, but our landlord will be able to lease it far more easily and for more money if he wants next time.

3) The Government should Fund Statutory Sick Pay again.

Since 2014 businesses have footed the bill for SSP, with no refund. Employees also accrue holiday pay while off sick. For a very small business this can be significant especially when understood in the context of the last 10 years of blow after blow financially. Fund sick pay again - it's hugely important for workers to have, but SMEs have become the new Welfare State.

I could go on Andy, but I think these 3 things, along with some of the ideas you're alluding to, could be a very good start.

Life would be dull and colourless without us. But we are dying by the day. Let's hope you help us.

It's frightening isn't it?? The cost of a beautifully designed cake.

But, its true. When you're ordering a cake from me, it's not REALLY the cake you are buying. Yes, it's my skill, talent, and expertise, but most importantly, it's that critical commodity that all of us have, which runs through our fingers like sand.

My DEDICATED TIME. From the moment you see me, say at a wedding fayre, or contact me through sm or my website, you have my undivided attention. When you place an order with me, even more so!

For a while we collaborate, when communication is key. Then it's over to me to wear all the different hats needed to bring your cake to life.

I become the:

Designer
Procurement Department
Stock Controller
Back Office Support Staff (communication)
Cake Maker
Quality Control
Cake Artist
Cake Artitect
Packaging Department
Logistics (leave that to hub!)
Set up lady (sometimes)

So actually, running through this list, cake doesn't get mentioned that often. 🀣

In all seriousness, folks it isn't just about eggs, sugar, flour and butter. There's so much more that's involved to create your cake. Let me hold your hand, take away your cake stress and guide you through the process.

This is one challenge I DO NOT accept.Β  Because my client's cake receives my undivided time, my full attention, posting social media content totally goes out the window. πŸ™ˆΒ

No distractions!Β  Just flour, butter, sugar, eggs, chocolate, cream, fillings, fondant and decoration .....oh and whole lot of care and attention.

I'm not always in the kitchen (thank goodness, especially this week), but also in my studio.Β  This is where the art work happens and THIS is the process which takes my time, my full presence.

After all, when you ask me to make your cake, it's not just an order, it's not just a commission, it's an INVESTMENT πŸ’°πŸ’°. And, like all investments, you'll be expecting a good return, which is whyΒ  your cake gets my undivided attention.Β  So that's why I'm almost non-existent on social media πŸ˜‰Β

My time is limited but contact me (DM, link in bio, usual ways) if you'd like to chat about an investment for your upcoming celebration!

Enjoy your day everyone and speak soon
